Position Summary
\nMika Meats is seeking vigilant, responsible, and dedicated\u00a0Security Officers\u00a0to join our security teams at the Chisamba Plant and Ngwerere Distribution Center. The successful candidates will play a critical role in safeguarding our people, property, and operations, ensuring a secure environment in line with company policies and national regulations.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Control access to the premises for employees, visitors, and vehicles.
\nConduct regular patrols of the facility to deter unauthorized activities and identify security risks.
\nMonitor CCTV and alarm systems for unusual activity.
\nRespond promptly to security breaches, alarms, or incidents.
\nLog daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
\nInspect and verify the movement of goods, ensuring alignment with dispatch and delivery documents.
\nPrevent loss or damage to company assets through vigilance and control procedures.
\nEnforce company security policies, procedures, and regulations.
\nProvide assistance in emergency situations, including fire evacuation or first aid where applicable.
\nMaintain communication with supervisors and other security personnel via radio or mobile communication.
\nEscort visitors and contractors where necessary.
\nReport any suspicious behaviors or activities immediately.<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications<\/p>\n
Minimum Education: GCE Certificate (Grade 12) with passes in English and other subjects.
\nLiteracy: Must be able to read and write in English clearly and legibly.
\nSecurity Training: Must have\u00a0basic formal security training, preferably from a recognized institution or agency.
\nExperience: Minimum of\u00a02 years\u2019 traceable experience\u00a0in a security role, preferably in an industrial or distribution environment.
\nAge: 25 years and above preferred.<\/p>\n
Core Security Skills & Competencies<\/p>\n
Access control techniques and visitor management
\nPatrolling and surveillance (including use of CCTV and alarm systems)
\nIncident response and basic emergency management
\nConflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
\nReport writing and incident logging
\nBasic knowledge of legal aspects of security (e.g., arrest procedures, trespassing laws)
\nTeamwork and ability to follow chain of command
\nAlertness, integrity, and high levels of confidentiality
\nPhysical fitness and stamina to patrol large areas
\nGood communication and interpersonal skills<\/p>\n
Additional Requirements<\/p>\n
Ability to work\u00a0day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays
\nMust have\u00a0traceable references\u00a0and\u00a0police clearance
\nPreferably from surrounding areas (Chisamba, Ngwerere, or Lusaka outskirts)
\nKnowledge of local languages will be an added advantage<\/p>\n
