\nOverview:
\nWe are seeking a skilled and hands-on Centre Pivot Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and servicing of irrigation systems across Zambia. The ideal candidate will have practical experience working with centre pivot systems and a solid understanding of agricultural irrigation technologies. This role involves fieldwork, troubleshooting, and close collaboration with engineering and project teams to ensure optimal system performance.
\nKey Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Install and commission centre pivot irrigation systems according to project specifications
\nConduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical and mechanical components
\nDiagnose faults and troubleshoot issues related to motors, gearboxes, control panels, and water delivery systems
\nCalibrate and test system functionality to ensure efficient water distribution and coverage
\nProvide technical support and training to farm operators and clients on system use and upkeep
\nMaintain accurate service records and report on system performance and maintenance needs
\nCollaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely and quality delivery of installations
\nEnsure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all field operations<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
Minimum 3 years\u2019 experience working with centre pivot irrigation systems
\nStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
\nFamiliarity with irrigation control systems and automation technologies
\nAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
\nComfortable working in rural and agricultural environments
\nGood communication and client-facing skills
\nValid driver\u2019s license and willingness to travel extensively within Zambia<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualifications:<\/p>\n
Certificate or diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
\nExperience with other irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler) is an added advantage
\nKnowledge of Zambian agricultural practices and terrain<\/p>\n
PLEASE NOTE:\u00a0The successful candidate will be required to relocate to Zambia.
