Roles and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Lead Internal Audit\u2019s annual risk assessment and enterprise risk assessment and planning process to develop the audit plan and ensure the plan is responsive to and aligned with the risk profile of the bank.<\/p>\n
Oversee the execution of individual audits defined in the audit plan ensuring the highest level of service quality.<\/p>\n
Oversee and\/or lead some audits at a Group level as required from time to time.<\/p>\n
Review and issue Internal Audit reports ensuring the reports are clear, concise, identify root causes with practical solutions, and ultimately provide value to management.<\/p>\n
Meet regularly with the Audit Committee to report on the status of Internal Audit\u2019s ongoing monitoring activities and inform the committee of emerging risks and\/or exposures, in line with risk management and internal control best practices.<\/p>\n
Proactively inform senior management of significant risks or exposures related to internal controls, compliance, and\/or governance requiring prompt attention.<\/p>\n
Manage the process to track, follow up, and ultimately close all open audit issues leveraging the Audit Committee, if necessary.<\/p>\n
Actively participate in executive management meetings and\/or committees to ensure that Internal Audit is well-informed of key business developments that could have an impact on audit priorities and\/or plans.<\/p>\n
Attract, hire, and retain a team of high-performing audit professionals who possess outstanding knowledge, experience, ethics, and integrity.<\/p>\n
Ensure that Internal Audit is performing in accordance with established professional standards and Key Performance Indicators and remain abreast of emerging trends and best practices that can be incorporated into the function.<\/p>\n
Where necessary, coordinate the activities of external auditors including how best to leverage the work performed and results produced from Internal Audit\u2019s work.<\/p>\n
Skills, Knowledge, and Competencies<\/p>\n
Knowledge of Global Internal Auditing Standards.<\/p>\n
Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.<\/p>\n
Knowledge of local regulations and laws affecting banking business.<\/p>\n
Effective Planning and Time Management.<\/p>\n
Effective Communication and Leadership skills.<\/p>\n
Demonstrating Critical Thinking and Analysis.<\/p>\n
Technology Proficient (Excel, Word, data analytics tools, use of audit software).<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit or related relevant field.<\/p>\n
Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).<\/p>\n
8 or more years\u2019 experience working in audit; at least 5 years of which should be in a management role.<\/p>\n
Previous work experience in the banking\/financial services sector is necessary.<\/p>\n
Previous work experience in a Big 4 Audit firm is an advantage.<\/p>\n
