Mukuba features a herd of graceful impala, among other attractions, symbolising the hotel\u2019s unsurpassed quest for excellence which has earned it the title \u201cGem of the Copperbelt\u201d amongst local admirers.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nA need has arisen to fill the following position:<\/p>\n<p>GENERAL MANAGER<br \/>\nJob Purpose<\/p>\n<p>The General Manager (GM) shall act on behalf of the Board of Directors in keeping with policies, vision, mission and core values of Mukuba Hotel Limited (the \u201cHotel\u201d). The GM shall provide overall oversight and leadership of the company to ensure that formulated strategies are implemented in line with the overall strategic intent of the Hotel.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nKey Roles and Responsibilities<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Strategic Leadership<\/p>\n<p>Provide transformative leadership to drive institutional performance, organizational culture, and service excellence across all functional areas.<br \/>\nEnsure the effective implementation of the Hotel\u2019s strategic plan and alignment of departmental activities with corporate priorities.<br \/>\nFoster a results-oriented culture through participatory leadership, accountability mechanisms, and ethical conduct.<br \/>\nMaintain full compliance with the Hotel\u2019s policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory frameworks.<br \/>\nPromote a safe, healthy, and inclusive workplace through rigorous implementation of health, safety, and wellness standards.<\/p>\n<p>Financial Management<\/p>\n<p>Oversee the Hotel\u2019s financial health by maintaining an optimal balance between liquidity, solvency, and long-term sustainability.<br \/>\nProvide executive oversight in the preparation and submission of annual operational and capital budgets for Board approval.<br \/>\nMonitor financial performance and report quarterly to the Board, providing variance analyses and corrective actions where required.<br \/>\nEnsure adherence to approved accounting standards, audit requirements, and financial reporting obligations.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate Strategy and Policy Oversight<\/p>\n<p>Translate the Hotel\u2019s vision and mission into actionable strategies that advance growth and profitability.<br \/>\nSupervise the formulation, implementation, and periodic review of policies and procedures across all divisions to ensure consistency, quality assurance, and compliance.<br \/>\nGuide the Hotel\u2019s operationalisation towards efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainable market positioning.<\/p>\n<p>. Governance, Risk, and Compliance<\/p>\n<p>Institutionalize a robust governance framework that upholds transparency, accountability, and ethical leadership.<br \/>\nOversee the development and maintenance of risk management systems, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide risk frameworks.<br \/>\nEstablish and monitor internal audit processes, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure timely implementation of recommendations.<br \/>\nDevelop and maintain an effective Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan.<br \/>\nEnsure comprehensive insurance coverage and proactive risk mitigation strategies across all operational areas.<\/p>\n<p>Board and Stakeholder Relations<\/p>\n<p>Maintain an effective working relationship with the Board of Directors and ensure the timely submission of accurate information to support informed decision-making.<br \/>\nCollaborate closely with the Board Chairperson to ensure meetings are strategically focused and decisions are well-informed.<br \/>\nStrengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, including regulators, clients, suppliers, and the IDC, to advance the Hotel\u2019s strategic interests.<\/p>\n<p>Marketing and Business Development<\/p>\n<p>Lead the development and execution of an innovative marketing and brand positioning strategy.<br \/>\nEnsure that customer service standards are consistently achieved and that market feedback informs service enhancement.<br \/>\nBuild strategic alliances with corporate partners, suppliers, and the hospitality industry ecosystem to enhance visibility and competitiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Operational Excellence and Human Capital Management<\/p>\n<p>Promote high standards of professional conduct and performance through a structured performance management system.<br \/>\nFoster a culture of learning, innovation, and employee engagement.<br \/>\nEnsure that human resource policies and practices are aligned with the Hotel\u2019s operational and strategic objectives.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\nQUALIFICATIONS<br \/>\nRequired<\/p>\n<p>Grade 12 certificate.<br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or relevant field.<br \/>\nMaster\u2019s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism, or relevant field is an added advantage.<br \/>\nProfessional Membership.<br \/>\nMinimum of 10 years work experience in senior management or similar position.<\/p>\n<p>Skill Specifications:<\/p>\n<p>Strategic planning and execution<br \/>\nFinancial management and analysis<br \/>\nStakeholder engagement and relationship development<br \/>\nRisk identification and mitigation<br \/>\nRegulatory compliance and governance<br \/>\nPerformance management systems<br \/>\nWritten and oral communication<br \/>\nData interpretation and strategic application<br \/>\nLegislative and policy analysis<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
