\n6.0 ICT OFFICER \u2013 DATABASE ADMINISTRATION, SALARY GRADE ZRA06 (1 POSITION)
\nINFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY FUNCTION
\nA. PURPOSE
\nAccountable for planning, designing, and managing enterprise database structures, for optimal performance, security, and scalability for mission-critical systems. Leads the identification and resolution of complex data corruption issues while implementing comprehensive data storage, backup, and archival solutions. Oversees standby and disaster recovery databases, ensuring high availability and alignment with business continuity goals. Reports directly to the Senior ICT Officer \u2013 Business Continuity Management, providing regular updates and ensuring alignment with business continuity strategies.
\nB. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS<\/p>\n
Grade 12 School Certificate or General Certificate Education (GCE) or Equivalent with five (5) Credits or better;
\nSchool supplies<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in computer science or an equivalent qualification;<\/p>\n
At least two (2) years of experience in Oracle database administration or expertise in MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL;<\/p>\n
Proficient in Oracle database backup and recovery, Linux administration, and shell\/batch scripting. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and above, and backup solutions like Veritas NetBackup;<\/p>\n
Expertise in ensuring high availability and implementing disaster recovery solutions for Oracle databases; and<\/p>\n
Must be a valid member of ICTAZ with a 2025 Practicing License.<\/p>\n
