\nAs an Android Engineer you will join us on existing and upcoming Early Childhood Development (ECD) projects.

\nThis is a full-time remote position for\u00a032 hours per week (4 days), offering the\u00a0flexibility\u00a0of a\u00a0shorter\u00a0working\u00a0week\u00a0while\u00a0keeping\u00a0you\u00a0fully\u00a0integrated\u00a0into the\u00a0team.
\nYour primary focus will be building and maintaining native mobile applications using\u00a0Android (Java\/Kotlin).
\nYou will be joining an\u00a0Agile tech team\u00a0for our client, the\u00a0Roger Federer Foundation, where you will help drive their\u00a0School Readiness Initiative (SRI). Together with an experienced Technical Lead, Backend Engineer, Fullstack Mobile Engineer, Web Engineer, QA Testers, and a Technical Project Manager (TPM), you will collaborate closely to build meaningful, impactful solutions.
\nIdeal candidate profile
\nWe are looking for a passionate Android Engineer with strong native Android development experience.
\nOver 2 years of professional experience in mobile application development, delivering high-quality native apps for Android.<\/p>\n
Proficiency in Android (Kotlin and Java), with hands-on experience developing scalable and maintainable Android applications.
\nProficiency with Content Providers and Android Jetpack components (ViewModel, LiveData, Coroutines and Room DB).
\nProficiency with Android Gradle, skilled in dependency management and harmonious integration within Android Studio.
\nExposure to developing Android applications designed to operate harmoniously within Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems and managed, locked\u2011down environments.
\nProficiency with Firebase, including Crashlytics and Analytics SDKs implementation to enhance app stability, insights, and user engagement.
\nProficiency with GitLab, CI\/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
\nProficiency in integrating RESTful APIs, with hands-on experience implementing offline data synchronisation and effective caching strategies to ensure reliable, high\u2011performance mobile applications even in no-connectivity\/low\u2011connectivity environments.<\/p>\n
General skills
\nTertiary qualification in computer science\/engineering or equivalent experience.<\/p>\n
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal in English).
\nExcellent collaboration skills with the ability to thrive in a remote environment.
\nExcellent ability to communicate effectively across distributed teams, take ownership of tasks independently, and deliver results with minimal supervision using modern collaboration tools.<\/p>\n
