Purpose of the role:
\nAssist management of Account Receivables, perform account reconciliations, maintaining general ledger, ensure that all receipts have been posted and allocated correctly.
\nReports to: Assistant Finance Manager
\nBranch: Lusaka
\nKey Duties and Responsibilities:
\nThe accountant will be required to perform the following tasks:
\n\u00a0Working Capital Management
\nAccounts Receivable<\/p>\n
Perform account reconciliations; Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities; Research and resolve payment.
\nEnsuring that customer statements are sent on time and follow with the invoicing department when the customer requires proof of delivery.
\nIssue timely reminders to overdue customers, Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans
\nEnsuring accuracy and efficiency of operations, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts.
\nCollects on delinquent accounts by contacting customers \u00b7 Verifies\u00a0account\u00a0accuracy through reconciliation
\nSending statements to the customer twice every month and assist with AR Meeting minutes.<\/p>\n
Customer Relations<\/p>\n
Sending statements to the customer twice every month and assist with AR Meeting minutes.
\nEnsure that customer queries are resolved quickly and effectively.
\nPromptly & Effectively resolve any customer queries.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Reporting
\nEfficient Business Processes<\/p>\n
Assist preparing a detailed cash sale analysis and customer aging every month end.
\nPrepare advance receipt journal every month end.
\nClearing of FX all customer accounts.<\/p>\n
General<\/p>\n
Assist in the accurate preparation and processing of various journals (AR, general & Cash journals)
\nReconciliation 3304 Accruals-Interest \u2013 Ensure loan Interest Accruals are performed monthly in line with the given borrowing rates, maintain schedules to accurately highlight loan and interest balances for all existing loans. Ensuring the balance agrees to TB.
\nCredit Cards Management: Perform weekly Credit Card reconciliations and at month end reporting to ensure available amounts agree to with TB.
\nPerform detailed reconciliation of ledger 2021 \u2013 Debtors Accrual \u2013 Zambia to ensure balances agree to TB and all recorded entries have supporting documentation.
\nReviewing, capturing\/processing and posting of all approved transactions as may be assigned
\nSafeguarding, maintaining and upholding the confidentiality and integrity of information that come your way in the execution of your duties.
\nAccurate and timely filing of all work documentation.<\/p>\n

Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
Must have Grade 12 General Certificate of Education
\nBachelor\u2019s degree\u00a0in Accounting, Finance, Commerce
\nA professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ZICA) is desirable
\nA member of ZICA.
\nMinimum four (4) to five (5) years\u2019 experience
\nZambia Qualifications Authority Validated Qualifications.
\nMembership to the relevant body is a requirement.<\/p>\n
Job Specific Competencies<\/p>\n
Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
\nUp-to-date knowledge of relevant Zambian laws and regulations.
\nExperience in Fixed Assets and VAT management.
\nStrong knowledge of VAT regulations and accounting principles.
\nAdvanced proficiency in Excel and other financial reporting tools.
\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.
\nExcellent organizational and communication skills.
\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines<\/p>\n
