ZAMBIA EDUCATION PROGRAM COORDINATION UNIT
\nGOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA
\nMINISTRY OF EDUCATION (MOEDU)
\nThe Government of the Republic of Zambia, through the Ministry of Education (MOEDU), is committed to enhancing equitable access to quality education as part of various educational initiatives. In line with this mission, we are excited to announce the implementation of the Enhancing Inclusive Quality Learning (EIQuaL) Project, supported by a $14 Million Education Systems and Capacity Grant from the Global Partnership for Education. This project aims to reduce Learning Poverty Levels across the country.
\nPROJECT GOALS
\na) Ensure learners achieve learning outcome targets by age 10, with equitable results for boys and girls;
\nb) Equip teachers with pedagogical content knowledge, aligned teaching materials, and gender-responsive practices to enhance literacy and numeracy outcomes;
\nc) Utilize data-informed strategies for targeted and timely support, improving service delivery and learning outcomes; and
\nd) Reduce gender inequality in educational access, participation, completion, and outcomes for marginalized boys and girls.
\nPROJECT DURATION
\nThe Enhancing Inclusive Quality Learning (EIQuaL) project is set for a duration of three years, renewable upon satisfactory performance.
\nGRANT MANAGEMENT
\nSave the Children will serve as the Grant Agent, responsible for ensuring compliance, fiduciary oversight, and providing technical support for effective project delivery.
\nThe Ministry of Education is inviting applications from qualified candidates who meet the minimum requirements to fill the following position:
\n14) PROJECT OFFICERS x 2
\nReporting Relationship
\nThe Project Officer will be reporting to the Deputy Coordinator \u2013 Operations.
\nScope and Duties
\na) Coordinate and compile the preparation of annual work plans and budgets for assigned regions;
\nb) Preparation and tracking of activity budgets and expenses;
\nc) Compile implementation reports in assigned Districts and Provinces;
\nd) Collaborate with other specialists in effectively and efficiently delivering on project mandate;
\ne) Ensure a flow of regular and complete information on the status of the activities planned and implemented;
\nf) Manage the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, training sessions and meetings in collaboration with the technical support of specialists;
\ng) Check the status of the project on daily basis in assigned Districts;
\nh) Draft and disseminate project-related communication, including emails, memos, activity guidelines and timelines; and
\ni) Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor as part of the implementation of the project.
\nRequired Academic and Professional Qualifications
\na) Grade 12 certificate;
\nb) Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Human Management, Development Studies, Project Management or equivalent; and
\nc) Master\u2019s degree in the relevant field equivalent will be an added advantage.
\nDesirable Personal Attributes
\na) Strong organizational, planning, and coordination HRA, Business Administration and Development Studies;
\nb)
\nc) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
\nd) Ability to work effectively in a team and independently; and
\ne) Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
