\nWe are seeking a dedicated\u00a0Assistant Accountant\u00a0to join our finance team in Lusaka. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. \nKey Responsibilities
\n1.Bookkeeping and Record Keeping<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
\nProcess invoices, receipts, and payments
\nTrack accounts payable and receivable
\nRecord daily financial transactions
\nMaintain ledgers and journals accurately<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0Financial Reporting<\/p>\n
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
\nGenerate management reports for decision-making
\nSupport budget preparation and monitoring<\/p>\n
3.Account Reconciliation<\/p>\n
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
\nIdentify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly<\/p>\n
4.Audit and compliance support<\/p>\n
Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits
\nEnsure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies<\/p>\n
5.Payroll assistant<\/p>\n
Help process employee salaries and benefits
\nMaintain payroll records and ensure statutory deductions are accurate<\/p>\n
6.Administrative Duties<\/p>\n
Organize financial files and records
\n\u00a0Support senior accountants with ad hoc tasks
\nCommunicate with venders, clients, and internal teams regarding financial matters<\/p>\n
7.Data Entry and Analysis<\/p>\n
Input financial data into accounting systems
\nPerform basic financial analysis to support decision-making<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Skills<\/p>\n
Education:\u00a0Bachelor`s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
\nCertifications:\u00a0Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA certification (added advantage)<\/p>\n
Experience:\u00a01\u20132 years of practical accounting experience, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or related sectors
\nTechnical Tools:\u00a0Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Pastel; strong MS Excel skills
\nSoft Skills:
\nStrategic thinking and problem-solving
\nStakeholder diplomacy and effective communication
\nData storytelling and financial analysis
\nAdaptability and ability to work under pressure<\/p>\n
