\nThe\u00a0Oil Mill Superintendent\u00a0is responsible for providing\u00a0operational direction\u00a0and oversight for the\u00a0Oil Mill department, Mill Workshop and the Company Laboratory.
\n3.0 Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
KEY RESULT AREAS<\/p>\n
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES(DUTIES)<\/p>\n
Operations Management<\/p>\n
Receiving of daily FFB from Zampalm Plantation and OPOC<\/p>\n
Quality check of FFB received at the Oil Mill<\/p>\n
Monitoring and control of FFB cooking or sterilization<\/p>\n
Ensuring the desired oil extraction rate for every batch is achieved<\/p>\n
Monitoring and ensuring proper storage of finished oil<\/p>\n
Ensuring physical stock count of oil stored in tanks and ensuring the implementation of monthly physical stock take for each month<\/p>\n
Monitoring and control of CPO loading to customers<\/p>\n
Ensuring effective Supervision of the Oil Mill workforce<\/p>\n
Ensuring that Tasks assigned to workers are achieved and monitoring of employee productivity<\/p>\n
Ensuring the marking of the Oil Mill Time Book and submission to HR department for monthly payroll processing<\/p>\n
Assisting in the organisation of mill labour transportation<\/p>\n
Ensuring that all Oil Mill consumables drawn from main Stores are properly utilised without wastage<\/p>\n
Monitoring of machine performance in the process and ensuring optimal machine performance<\/p>\n
Attending to machine breakdown<\/p>\n
Ensuring that planned machine maintenance activities are carried out<\/p>\n
Ensuring good Housing Keeping of the Mill<\/p>\n
Team Leadership<\/p>\n
Lead a team of permanent and\u00a0temporal staff, fostering a culture of safety, ethics, and performance.<\/p>\n
Supervises, coaches, motivates, develops and disciplines subordinates; Agrees, monitors and reviews performance of subordinates to ensure that they meet their agreed performance objectives\/targets and that appropriate and timely actions are taken arising from the Performance Appraisals.<\/p>\n

5.0 Knowledge and Skill Levels<\/p>\n
Minimum Primary\/ Secondary Education:<\/p>\n
Full\u00a0Grade 12 GCE O\u2019Level Certificate or GCSE<\/p>\n
Minimum Vocational\/Professional Qualifications<\/p>\n
\u2022 Degree in Production Management, Food Science or Chemical Engineering or the equivalent from a recognized institution<\/p>\n
Certifications:<\/p>\n
Training in\u00a0ISO 9001; 2015<\/p>\n
Minimum Relevant Work Experience.<\/p>\n
\u2022\u00a0minimum of\u00a03\u00a0years\u2019 work experience in a processing industry or equivalent institution\u00a0with at least 3 years as Supervisor in a reputable firm.<\/p>\n
Proven track record in supervising large factory\u00a0such as Sugar Plantation, Coffee,\u00a0or\u00a0Tea Plantation.<\/p>\n
Familiarity with Zambia\u2019s Regulatory Environment (e.g., ZEMA, ZABS, ZCSA etc) is greatly desired<\/p>\n
Knowledge of the Palm Oil Industry will be an added advantage<\/p>\n
