{"id":6603,"date":"2025-12-03T10:32:09","date_gmt":"2025-12-03T10:32:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/job\/programmes-officer-at-zambia-academy-of-sciences\/"},"modified":"2025-12-06T00:14:33","modified_gmt":"2025-12-06T00:14:33","slug":"programmes-officer-at-zambia-academy-of-sciences","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/zambia\/?post_type=job_listing&p=6603","title":{"rendered":"Programmes Officer at Zambia Academy of Sciences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE ORGANIZATION<br \/>\nThe\u00a0Zambia Academy of Sciences (ZaAS)\u00a0was established under Act No. 18 of 2020 to, among other functions, promote Science, Technology and Innovation and its utilisation; and provide independent and evidence-informed scientific advice or opinion to government, the private sector, and the general public, on matters concerning science, technology and innovation.<br \/>\nPROGRAMMES OFFICER<br \/>\n1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0JOB PURPOSE<br \/>\nUnder the direction the Executive Director, the Programmes Officer will mainly be responsible for technical development, implementation and coordination of programmes of the Academy.<br \/>\n2.\u00a0KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<br \/>\na.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Project development, including proposal writing and planning<br \/>\nb.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Liaison with local partners on projects<br \/>\nc.\u00a0Liaison with Zambian institutions involved in the development, advancement, and promotion of science in Zambia<br \/>\nd.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Provision of support to the Zambia Young Academy of Science (ZYAS), JETS, and other young science events<br \/>\n3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:<br \/>\na)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0QUALIFICATION<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0Minimum of a Masters Degree in natural sciences, technology, or social sciences.<br \/>\nb)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0EXPERIENCE<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0i.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience, in a research\/development-related institution;<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0ii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Knowledge of project planning, development and implementation;<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0iii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Networking experience, especially at the local-level;<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0iv.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Knowledge of how science academies operate.<br \/>\nc)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0KEY SKILLS<br \/>\ni.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Excellent technical writing and editing skills<br \/>\nii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Excellent numerical data and analytical skills<br \/>\niii.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Scientific reporting and presentation skills<br \/>\nd)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0ATTRIBUTES<br \/>\nSelf-motivated; Team player with motivational skills; Moral and Professional Integrity; Good public relations skills.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
