Reporting to the Shift Metallurgist, you will be responsible for conducting various metallurgical laboratory tests and assisting with process sample analyses as directed by the Metallurgist.
\nYour duties will include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
Following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks in the Mets Laboratory.
\nSampling and preparations of process control samples, composites samples and adhoc samples.
\nCarrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses.
\nMaintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment, for example Lab Jaw Crusher, Lab Rod & Ball Mill, Lab Float Machines and Sieve Shaker.
\nEnsuring the laboratory chemicals are well stocked and resourced.
\nCompiling and sometimes interpreting results to present to metallurgists.
\nFollowing and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks in the Mets Laboratory.
\nMaintaining and understanding the importance of good housekeeping standards in the Met lab.
\nCollecting hourly ISA assays and reporting to the Metallurgist
\nDaily cleaning of analyzers to ensure that sample flow to analyzers is smooth preventing any blockages in the lines. Line must be always maintained clear.
\nConduct daily full dry screen analysis.<\/p>\n
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 School Certificate
\nMinimum experience of not less than 1 year in the mining industry
\nMust understand sampling & sample handling techniques and preparation
\nGood Knowledge of computers and must be proficient in the use of Microsoft office package which includes excel, power point and word
\nGood communication skills<\/p>\n
