\nThe Zambia Institute of Mass Communication (ZAMCOM) was established under the ZAMCOM Act of Parliament of 1996 to provide Communications and Media training and production services.
\nZAMCOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position;
\nGARDENER
\nJOB PURPOSE
\nTo maintain the landscape, gardens, and outdoor areas of ZAMCOM by ensuring a clean, aesthetically pleasing, and functional environment, it involves planting, pruning, watering, weeding, and general upkeep of green spaces
\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
Regularly mow lawns, trim hedges, and water plants to maintain healthy greenery.
\nPrunes trees and shrubs to encourage proper growth and appearance.
\nPrepares soil and plant flowers, grass, trees, and other vegetation as needed.
\nMaintains garden beds by removing weeds, mulching, and applying fertilizers.
\nEnsures outdoor areas remain clean by collecting and disposing of garden waste properly.
\nKeeps pathways, driveways, and outdoor spaces free from debris.
\nMaintains gardening tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
\nReports any damaged or malfunctioning tools to the line manager.
\nIdentifies and treats plants affected by pests or diseases using safe and appropriate methods.
\nImplements preventive measures to keep gardens free from infestations.
\nFollows safety procedures when handling gardening chemicals and equipment.
\nEnsures compliance with environmental and health regulations in gardening activities.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate
\nCertificate in Landscaping is an added advantage<\/p>\n
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.<\/p>\n
Knowledge of plant care techniques, irrigation systems, and pest control.<\/p>\n
Must hold experience using gardening tools and machinery such as lawnmowers and trimmers
\nMust have the ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending, and extended periods of outdoor work
\nMust have the ability to Identify and address garden-related challenges, such as pest infestations or plant diseases
\nMust have an understanding of soil management, and landscaping principles.<\/p>\n
