\nPOSITION: INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN (01 POSITION) C3\u2013 ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

\nThe successful candidates will be responsible for looking after all installation, maintenance, repairs of control and instrumentation systems and equipment that make up the site Agriculture Operational (OT) Network. The role involves troubleshooting issues performing routine maintenance, upgrading systems as needed and ensuring the uptime of the OT network.

\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensuring they operate efficiently and Safely
\nCustomer and Stakeholder Accountabilities:
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and departments.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Read and interpret technical drawings, datasheets, schematics, and manuals to understand and solve complex communications, control and instruments issues.
\nOperational Accountabilities:
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conducts routine maintenance of field electronics and instrumentation.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conducts routine maintenance of control systems and pump station controllers
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Carries out planned maintenance on electronic and instrumentation equipment
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensures that instrumentations are in good working conditions
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensures OT network monitoring systems and dashboards are operational and up to date.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maintenance and calibration of instruments (flow, temperature, pressure, level, controlled traffic systems, variable speed drives, weather stations, soil moisture probes, rain gauges. etc.)
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Involvement in electric drive communications maintenance on the low voltage side
\n\u00b7\u00a0Maintain control system and integrating automation processes (controller and hmi)
\n\u00b7\u00a0Ensure proper communications and instrumentation wiring installation in pump station.
\n\u00b7\u00a0Maintain communication network for site (instrumentation network and radio systems such as RTK and LORAWAN
\n\u00b7 Technical drone maintenance
\n\u00b7 Maintain the backup system of control power supply (UPS).
\n\u00b7 Maintain and modify P & ID and instrumentation drawing.
\n\u00b7 Able and ability to work under pressure
\n\u00b7\u00a0Promote and adhere to Illovo s procedures, policies, and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and corruption (ABC).
\n\u00b7\u00a0Work closely with IT department regards backhaul connectivity and access to internet before the OT network
\nEnsure safety of people and machines.
\nAdhere to ABF safety standards.
\nAdhere to ABF values (Accountability, empowerment, integrity, commitment and inclusiveness)
\n\u00b7 Any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
\n\u00b7 Suitably qualified applicant must provide certificates which have been verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA)
\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Grade 12 School Certificate.
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Diploma in Electronic\/Electrical\/Instrumentation\/NTA Level 6 in Electrical\/Electronic Engineering\/Internet of things from a recognized Institution
\n\u00b7 Extensive knowledge in electrical, electronics, instrumentation circuits and software program reading and interpreting, faults tracing and rectification.
\n\u00b7\u00a0Minimum 3 years of experience
\n\u00b7\u00a0Must be a Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
\nKnowledge skills & and Competencies required
\n\u00b7\u00a0Basic knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript and IDE such as visual studio IDE
\n\u00b7\u00a0Basic knowledge of operating systems such as windows and Linux
\n\u00b7\u00a0Basic knowledge of communication protocols such as MQTT and REST
\n\u00b7\u00a0Basic knowledge of radio networks such as Wi-Fi and LoRaWAN
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0Basic knowledge of PLC programming serial communications protols such as Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU, analogue and digital communications such 4-2mA, PT100, opt isolated inputs and open collector outputs
\n\u00b7\u00a0Basic knowledge of GIS and GPS systems such as RTK for controlled traffic
\n\u00b7\u00a0Basic IT knowledge regards networking, understanding of VLAN, PoE, managed switches
\n\u00b7\u00a0Basic computer Literacy and familiarity with programs such as NODE RED, postman, Google Earth, MQTTX. Serial Communications tools such as Termite and Modbus Master.
\nWork Environment
\n\u00b7\u00a0This position may require working in various environments including office space and outdoor setup.
