Zambia Sugar Plc. is an ABF Group sugar company and is the leading sugar producer in Zambia.\u00a0Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products.
\nThe company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position in the Supply Chain Department to be based in Lusaka:
\nINVENTORY CONTROLLER x 1 \u2013 FIXED TERM CONTRACT
\nThis position reports to the Warehouse Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
\nKey Responsibilities
\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Apply minimum standards, processes and operating instructions for stock management and inventory control as per the ABF Outbound Logistics Way, Group minimum standards and country-specific requirements.
\n\u00b7Plan, lead and conduct relevant cycle, weekly, monthly, planned and unplanned stock counts as per Group \/ country specific requirements.
\n\u00b7Reconcile system and physical stock on hand, and investigate any variances, including reconciliation of sugar and packing materials as required by the site.
\n\u00b7Provide input into the execution and monitoring of Min \/ Max stock management in support of Depot Replenishment Planning.
\n\u00b7Coordinate the timely and accurate capturing of all inventory processes, including capturing of verified stock count transactions in the system.
\n\u00b7Co-ordinate and oversee all stock receipts, issues and internal movements.
\n\u00b7Assist with stock placement to maximise warehouse capacity utilisation.
\n\u00b7Conduct quality checks and manage product quality including the generation of monthly quality metric reports and movement of damaged stock to the correct location.
\n\u00b7Conduct regular systems checks in SAP\/WMS and lead the close of action thereof.
\n\u00b7Monitor inventory stacks and ensure compliance with the stacking guidelines.
\n\u00b7Consistently track and manage inventory control performance to standard and display all relevant KPI\u2019s to build team understanding, commitment and performance.
\n\u00b7Continuously engage with MHE Operators to uphold good practices and minimize sugar damages.
\n\u00b7Coach and conduct on the job training of team members to ensure competence against standards, SOPs, and skills required.
\n\u00b7Identify opportunities and make suggestions for warehouse improvements.
\n\u00b7Support, guide and supervise the ongoing compliance with SHERQ and housekeeping standards and requirements.
\n\u00b7Promote and adhere to business procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
\n\u00b7\u00a0Execute any other duties that as assigned to by the supervisor from time to time.
\n\u00a0MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
\n\u00b7Grade 12 School Certificate.
\n\u00b7At least an advanced or equivalent in Logistics \/ Warehousing \/ Inventory control.
\n\u00b7Microsoft proficient.
\n\u00b7Experience working with an ERP such as SAP and\/or WMS will be an added advantage.
\n\u00b72-3 years\u2019 practical warehousing experience.
\n\u00b7Leadership ability to influence, empower, guide and develop others.
\n\u00b7Ability to plan and organize work and resources.
\n\u00b7Good communication and report writing skills.
\n\u00b7Effective analytical skills.
\n\u00b7Results, performance and customer focused.
\n\u00b7Suitably qualified applicants must submit certificates verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
