\nPOSITION SUMMARY
\nInternational Maarif Schools of Lusaka seeks an exceptional and visionary Secondary School Head Teacher to provide strategic leadership and drive educational excellence across all secondary year groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, management, and academic performance of the secondary school while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, student welfare, and institutional governance.

\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
\nStrategic Leadership and Vision<\/p>\n
Provide inspirational leadership and establish a compelling vision for school excellence aligned with the Turkish Maarif Foundation\u2019s educational values and philosophy
\nDevelop and implement strategic plans that drive continuous improvement in academic achievement and institutional effectiveness
\nChampion innovation and best practice in secondary education
\nEnsure the school\u2019s mission, vision, and values permeate all aspects of school life<\/p>\n
Curriculum and Instructional Excellence<\/p>\n
Ensure effective implementation and continuous development of the 2023 Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) across all subject areas and year groups
\nOversee curriculum design, instructional quality standards, and assessment practices
\nMonitor teaching and learning effectiveness through rigorous quality assurance mechanisms
\nLead initiatives to enhance student achievement, critical thinking, and skill development
\nPromote integration of international educational standards and best practices<\/p>\n
Academic Performance and Student Outcomes<\/p>\n
Monitor and analyze student achievement data to identify trends and implement evidence-based interventions
\nSet ambitious yet achievable academic targets and hold staff accountable for student progress
\nFoster a culture of academic rigor and continuous improvement
\nEnsure comprehensive support for student holistic development\u2014academic, social, emotional, and character<\/p>\n
Staff Leadership and Development<\/p>\n
Lead the recruitment and selection of high-quality teaching and non-teaching staff
\nEstablish and implement fair, transparent performance management systems
\nProvide mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities for staff
\nFoster a collaborative, supportive, and inclusive school culture that values diversity
\nRecognize and celebrate staff achievements and contributions<\/p>\n
Financial and Resource Management<\/p>\n
Manage school finances, budgets, and resource allocation with accountability, transparency, and fiscal responsibility
\nEnsure efficient and strategic deployment of resources to support educational objectives
\nMaintain accurate financial records and comply with audit requirements
\nOptimize operational efficiency while maintaining educational quality<\/p>\n
Governance and Compliance<\/p>\n
Maintain full compliance with Independent Schools Association of Zambia (ISAZ) standards and regulatory requirements
\nEnsure adherence to Zambian education policy, legislation, and best practice guidelines
\nUphold institutional governance standards and reporting requirements
\nFacilitate accreditation processes and maintain international quality standards<\/p>\n
Community and Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
Build and sustain strong partnerships with parents, families, and the local community
\nCommunicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding school vision, progress, and achievements
\nMaintain strong liaison with the Turkish Maarif Foundation and international partners
\nRepresent the school professionally in community, regional, and national forums
\nPromote the school\u2019s international reputation and accreditation standing<\/p>\n

Foster a safe, secure, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for all students
\nEnsure child safeguarding policies and procedures are rigorously implemented and monitored

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
\nEducation and Credentials:<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Education (essential)
\nMaster\u2019s degree in Education Administration, Educational Leadership, or related field (advantageous)
\nCurrent valid Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) Practicing License
\nCertified copies of academic and professional qualifications<\/p>\n
Professional Experience:<\/p>\n
Minimum 8\u201310 years of progressive experience in secondary school education
\nMinimum 3 years in a demonstrated senior leadership role (e.g., Head of Department, Deputy Head, or equivalent)
\nProven track record of improving student academic achievement and pastoral care outcomes
\nSubstantive experience implementing the 2023 CBC Curriculum framework
\nDocumented expertise in ISAZ guidelines, independent school management, and quality assurance processes<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Expertise:<\/p>\n
Comprehensive knowledge of Zambian education policy, regulatory frameworks, and quality standards
\nStrong understanding of international educational standards and accreditation requirements
\nExpertise in financial management and strategic resource allocation
\nDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate, develop, and evaluate teaching staff
\nAdvanced knowledge of contemporary secondary education practices and pedagogical approaches<\/p>\n
