\nMindolo Ecumenical Foundation (MEF), is a faith based, non-denominational and Pan African Centre of Study, Worship and Reflection. It is located in Mindolo, Kitwe District on the Copperbelt Province of Zambia
\nApplications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill in the following vacant position at Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation.
\nCARPENTER
\nMEF is looking for a Carpenter on contractual basis at Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation Campus in Mindolo Kitwe. S\/he will be responsible for efficient and effective running of the carpentry workshop and perform general carpentry work at the institution. The successful candidate will also be required to conduct training activities in carpentry and Joinery.
\nReports to: The Maintenance Officer
\n\u00a0Duties and Responsibilities
\nThe successful candidates will be required to perform the following duties:<\/p>\n
Coordinating training activities for the certificate course in Carpentry and Joinery
\nPlanning, executing and coordinating all carpentry activities on campus
\nPreparing budgets and estimating costs for works to be undertaken at all times
\nConducting routine maintenance inspecting
\nBuilding or repairing cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machinery, hand tools, or power tools
\nFitting and installing new window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim using carpentry and joinery tools
\nFollowing established safety rules and regulations, and maintaining a safe and clean environment
\nKeeping and maintaining records of time spent on a job and materials purchased for the work
\nResponding to carpentry emergencies, determining the issues and making repairs
\nPerforming regular maintenance works of furniture and other infrastructure on campus
\nAny other duties assigned by the supervisor or principal officers<\/p>\n
Qualification and Experience<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 School Certificate\/GCE\/Form Five (5)
\nMinimum Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery
\nTEVETA Accredited Trainer
\nAt least Two (2) years\u2019 work experience<\/p>\n
Desirable Skills and Abilities<\/p>\n
Able to teach
\nProficiency with hand and power tools specific to the carpentry and joinery trade
\nWorking familiarity with carpentry materials and their appropriate use
\nAbility to show initiative
\nMust possess strong organizational skills
\nExcellent inter-personal and communication skills
\nHave a strong sense of personal and work accountability
\nAble to multitask
\nTeam Player<\/p>\n
AGE: \u00a0Between 22 and 45 years old
\nCommencement of duty: 1st\u00a0January 2026
\nBackground: Strong Christian background and able to work in an Ecumenical Environment.
