Zambia Land Alliance (ZLA) is a network of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) advocating for pro-poor land policies, laws and systems in Zambia. ZLA in partnership with Paralegal Alliance Network (PAN) and Transparency International Zambia (TI-Z) will be implementing a three-year project funded by the European Union (EU). The project, titled \u2018Strengthening the Role of CSOs and Citizens in Promoting Good Land Governance,\u2019 will be implemented in the Central Province (Mkushi and Serenje districts), Luapula Province (Mansa and Kawambwa districts), and North-Western Province (Kalumbila and Mufumbwe districts). ZLA is therefore soliciting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to take up three positions of\u00a0Provincial Project Accountant (PPA),reporting to the\u00a0ZLA Finance and Administration Manager.\u00a0The PPA will be based in Mansa, Serenje, and Solwezi project offices, with routine travel to project target districts in their respective provinces.
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Budgets:\u00a0Preparing, executing, and monitoring EU provincial activity Budgets and Expenditure
\nManaging EU Provincial Accounting Operations: Data entry, processing invoices, reconciliations, managing petty cash, and maintaining accounting records to be submitted to National office.
\nReporting & Compliance: Financial reporting, ensuring adherence to EU financial regulations, and implementing audit recommendations at provincial level
\nAnnual audit:\u00a0Support the audit process and EU Expenditure verifications at Provincial level.
\nProcurement Support: Assisting with Provincial procurement documents, purchase orders, and invoices for payment.
\nLiaison: Communicating with Programs teams, suppliers, and external partners; managing bank relations under the\u00a0EU\u00a0Project in the province.
\nAssets: Managing and updating the EU project fixed assets at Provincial level.
\nAdministration: Managing an efficient and effective Provincial administrative system of the EU project.<\/p>\n
2. Skills, Qualifications and Experience
\nA suitable candidate for this position must possess the following qualifications and experience:<\/p>\n
Education: Bachelor\u2019s degree in finance, accounting, economics, Business Administration, ZICA\/ACCA\/CIMA certification strongly preferred.
\nExperience: Proven three years\u2019 experience in financial management, accounting, Project budgeting or managing EU-funded projects is an added advantage.
\nTechnical Skills: Strong command of MS Office (Excel, Word), and experience with accounting systems QuickBooks, pastel etc.
\nLanguages: Excellent English (written\/spoken)
\nSoft Skills: Ability to work in multicultural teams, focus on priorities, multi-task, and work under tight deadlines.<\/p>\n
