JOB\u00a0ANNOUNCEMENT:\u00a0\u00a0SCHOOL BUS DRIVER
\nWe are seeking an experienced and professional PSV Driver to join our team at Bauleni Special Needs Project.\u00a0As a PSV Driver, you will play a crucial role in providing safe and reliable transportation services to our special needs school children, school tours and sporting events etc.\u00a0Your primary responsibility will be to operate our school bus in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and Project policies while delivering exceptional customer services.
\nRESPONSIBILITIES:
\n1.\u00a0BUS OPERATIONS:
\n\u2013\u00a0To safely operate the School bus in accordance with traffic laws, regulations, and Project policies.
\n\u2013\u00a0To conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the bus is in optimal condition and report any issues to immediate supervisor.
\n\u2013\u00a0Adhere to scheduled routes and timetables, ensuring punctuality and efficient service delivery.
\n\u2013\u00a0Maintain a clean and tidy interior of the school bus, ensuring learners\u2019 comfort and safety.
\n2.\u00a0PASSENGER SAFETY AND ASSISTANCE
\n\u2013\u00a0Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable journey for learners and other passengers.
\n\u2013\u00a0Familiarise yourself with the bus features, such as air conditioning, wheelchair accessibility and any other systems, and ensure they are functioning correctly.
\n\u2013\u00a0Assist learners with boarding and disembarking, especially those with severe disabilities.
\n\u2013\u00a0Handle learner\u2019s enquiries, concerns and complaints in a professional and courteous manner escalating issues to the immediate supervisor.
\n\u2013\u00a0Maintain a calm and controlled environment on-board by promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
\n\u2013\u00a0\u00a0Ensure learners\/passengers are aware of and adhere to safety regulations, such as wearing seat belts when required.
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0COMPLIANCE AND DOCUMENTATION:
\n\u2013\u00a0Ensure compliance with the relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including PSV licensing requirements and driver\u2019s hours\u2019 regulations.
\n\u2013\u00a0Maintain accurate records, including driver logs, vehicle maintenance records, incident reports, and passenger counts.
\n\u2013\u00a0Adhere to Project policies regarding healthy and safety, security and confidentiality.
\n4.\u00a0VEHICLE MAINTENANCE:
\n\u2013\u00a0Report any bus maintenance or repair needs promptly to the Transport & Logistics Officer.
\n\u2013\u00a0Carry out basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as fuelling, cleaning and checking fluid levels.
\n\u2013\u00a0Coordinate with the Transport & Logistics Officer to ensure the bus is regularly serviced as needed.
\n5.\u00a0REQUIREMENTS:
\n\u2013\u00a0Valid PSV License with certificate of professional competence.
\n\u2013\u00a0Previous experience as a PSV driver, preferably as a bus driver or similar setting is preferred.
\n\u2013\u00a0Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record.
\n\u2013\u00a0Strong knowledge of traffic regulations and road safety.
\n\u2013\u00a0Customer focussed mind-set with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n\u2013\u00a0Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
\n\u2013\u00a0Physically fit and ability to assist learners\/passengers with their luggage if necessary.
\n\u2013\u00a0Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays when necessary.
