POSITION
\nAutomotive Mechanics \u2013 Twelve (12) Positions<\/p>\n
Job Purpose \/ Description
\nTo carry out inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of\u00a0ZESCO Limited\u00a0motor vehicles and equipment in order to ensure optimal performance, safety, and availability of the fleet.

Qualifications<\/p>\n
Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate<\/p>\n
Craft Certificate, Technician Certificate, or Diploma in Automotive Mechanics or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution<\/p>\n
Minimum of\u00a0two (2) to three (3) years\u2019\u00a0practical experience in a busy automotive workshop<\/p>\n
Good knowledge of both petrol and diesel engines<\/p>\n
Valid\u00a0Class C\/CE driver\u2019s licence\u00a0will be an added advantage<\/p>\n
Registered member of the\u00a0Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)<\/p>\n
Required Competencies and Skills<\/p>\n
High level of integrity, safety awareness, and attention to detail<\/p>\n
Strong ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision<\/p>\n
Excellent fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills<\/p>\n
Ability to respond promptly to emergency call-outs and work in demanding conditions<\/p>\n
Effective communication and teamwork skills<\/p>\n
Job Accountabilities<\/p>\n
Conduct routine servicing, maintenance, and repair of light and heavy motor vehicles<\/p>\n
Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards within the workshop<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and detailed maintenance reports<\/p>\n
Operate workshop tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems responsibly and efficiently<\/p>\n
Conduct test drives, inspections, and diagnostics to identify faults and recommend optimal repair solutions<\/p>\n
Execute preventive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid flushing\/replacement, and brake servicing<\/p>\n
Inspect internal systems and controls to ensure vehicles meet operational and regulatory standards<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate records of vehicles, parts inventory, and service history<\/p>\n
Use computerized diagnostic tools to identify malfunctioning components<\/p>\n
Remove and replace worn-out or defective parts, addressing issues such as leaks and mechanical failures<\/p>\n
Diagnose engine, mechanical, and electrical faults accurately and perform necessary repairs<\/p>\n
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workshop at all times<\/p>\n
