Job Purpose
\nTo support smooth and efficient financial operations by ensuring accurate transaction processing, timely payments, and proper maintenance of accounting records.

Key Outputs & Responsibilities
\n\u2713 Accurately record daily financial transactions in the accounting system.\u2713 Prepare journal entries and ensure correct coding of expenses and income.\u2713 Verify supplier invoices and supporting documentation.\u2713 Prepare payment packs for review and authorization.\u2713 Process payments on banking platforms and ensure timely settlement.\u2713 Maintain a payments tracker and ensure all transactions are documented.\u2713 Update daily cashbooks.\u2713 Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.\u2713 Assist in preparing internal financial reports and analysis.\u2713 Ensure compliance with MFZ policies and regulatory requirements.\u2713 Maintain organised filing systems for audit and regulatory inspection.\u2713 Communicate with suppliers regarding payments and reconciliations.\u2713 Respond to internal queries related to financial transactions.\u2713 Support maintenance of the fixed asset register.\u2713 Assist with periodic asset verification exercises.\u2713 Provide general support to the Finance team and Management Accountant.<\/p>\n
Required Attributes
\n\u2713 Strong communication and time management skills.\u2713 Analytical mindset with attention to detail.\u2713 Understanding of basic accounting principles.\u2713 Ability to multitask and work under minimal supervision.\u2713 High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.\u2713 Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting software.\u2713 Strong numeracy skills and ability to identify errors.\u2713 Exceptional time management and verbal and written communication skills.\u2713 Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.\u2713 Ability to work as part of a team and take direction accurately.\u2713 Competence in IT, particularly proficiency with spreadsheet software.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience
\n\u2713 Full Grade 12 School Certificate\u2713 12 years\u2019 experience in accounting & finance related environment\u2713 Part\/Full CA (ZICA), diploma or degree in accounting or finance, or progress towards completion of a professional qualification if not fully qualified (certified by ZAQA)\u2713 Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)\u2713 Experience in the financial sector will be an added advantage
