In order to achieve its mandate Eastern Water and Sanitation Company is advertising for the position\u00a0INTERNAL AUDIT AND RISK MANAGER\u00a0to\u00a0be based at head office<br \/>\nPOSITION TITLE:\u00a0INTERNAL AUDIT AND RISK MANAGER (GRADE S3- REQUIRED NO. 1)<br \/>\nREPORTING TO:\u00a0MANAGING DIRECTOR AND THE BOARD<br \/>\n\u00a01.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0PURPOSE OF THE JOB<br \/>\nThe Internal Audit and Risk Manager include\u00a0conducting internal audits to assess financial and operational controls, identifying and evaluating risks, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. Develop and improve risk management frameworks, provide assurance on risk management processes, and help management respond to risks to safeguard the organization\u2019s integrity and improve efficiency.<br \/>\n2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0RESPONSIBILITIES<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Formulates and implements a comprehensive annual audit plan, which is approved by the Board, relevant and focused on the areas of key and significant risk to the Company.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Independently and objectively evaluates the Company\u2019s systems and practices of internal controls, risk management and governance by measuring and evaluating their effectiveness in achieving the agreed organizational objectives, and advises the Board and Management.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Reviews and evaluates the adequacy, reliability and integrity of accounting, billing and other operational systems to determine the degree to which they comply with established Company policies and ascertain their efficiency and effectiveness.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Inspects accounting systems to determine their efficiency and effectiveness, conducts cash spot checks and inspects collections at\/from pay points in all operating districts.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Plans and performs all types of audits including, but not limited to, financial, operational, compliance, value-for-money and performance audits as approved by the Board.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Reviews records and systems pertaining to material assets such as equipment, buildings and labor to determine degree of utilization, safeguarding and maintenance.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conducts special audits for management aimed at detecting any irregularities and thereafter develops and suggests controls for their prevention.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Coordinates with external auditors and ensures that each party is briefed on areas of concern.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Prepares ad hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual audit reports and submits them to the Audit Committee of the Board<br \/>\n\u00a03.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Grade 12 School Certificate with Merit in English and Mathematics<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0ACCA\/CIMA\/CA-Zambia or equivalent<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Must be a \u00a0qualified Chartered Accountant<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Experience \u2013 Minimum of five (5) years working experience in a similar position<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Master\u2019s in Business related discipline will be an added advantage<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Member of Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants ZICA (Associate or Fellow) and the Institute of Internal Auditors.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Valid Driver\u2019s License<br \/>\n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0COMPETENCES<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Risk Management<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Audit Planning and Execution<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Analytical Thinking<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Interpersonal Skills<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Data and Financial\u00a0Analysis<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
