The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Contribute to delivering a range of nursing, clinical and public\/community health services that aim to promote health and enhance the quality of patient care services.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Provide optimal nursing care to inpatients and outpatients<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Triaging, emergency and critical care<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Collaborate with other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Bedside nursing care<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Counselling\/ Information, Education and Communication (IEC) to relevant clients<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maternal Child Health service provision (pregnancy, childbirth &amp; postnatal)<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conducting Employee and Community Wellness Programmes<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure patient safety and optimal well-being through recommended best practice<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Stewardship of the environment patients are exposed to in the wards and outpatient department.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maintain Inventory and drug supplies on the wards and in the clinics<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Triage patients accessing care at the facility<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Provide nursing care to both inpatients and outpatients<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conduct nursing procedures such as phlebotomy, IV cannula insertion, catheterization, wound dressing, oral and parenteral drug administration<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Collaborate with the medical team for patient care<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Provide basic bedside care<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Document care interventions and patients\u2019 condition.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Provide counselling, information, education and communication (IEC) to clients where necessary<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conduct antenatal assessments, monitoring foetal well-being and manage complications as they arise in line with midwifery best practice.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Manage the intrapartum period, including conducting deliveries, managing pain and providing emotional support to parents<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conduct postnatal assessments, monitor new-borns for signs of distress, and provide support and education to new parents<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Conduct Maternal Child Health (MCH) activities e.g., immunizations<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Participate in community health promotion activities<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Adhere to the infection prevention and control (IPC) standard operating procedures including autoclaving\/sterilizing of instruments and good housekeeping<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Maintain inventory and order supplies. Making sure supplies are properly organized, accounted for and restocked on time to ensure the medical team has all the resources they need to provide quality patient care<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Accompany critically ill patients transported in the ambulance to referral health facilities<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Patient case management (i.e., consultation, prescribing and dispensing of medication), where appropriate and in line with stipulated country regulations<br \/>\nQualifications and Experience<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Full grade 12 Certificate.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Registered Nursing Diploma<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Advanced Diploma in Midwifery<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Valid practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ)<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Preferably 5 years relevant work experience<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Basic computer proficiency\/literacy<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Clinical skills and knowledge of best practice in nursing and midwifery care<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Excellent interpersonal and community skills, team leadership qualities, good communications skills,\u00a0good temperaments.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Suitably qualified applicants must provide certificates verified by Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
