MECHANIC
\nChaminuka Nature Reserve and Lodge
\nChaminuka Nature Reserve and Lodge, a premier eco-tourism destination, is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This position offers an opportunity to work with specialized safari vehicles in a unique wildlife environment.
\nPosition Overview
\nThe Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our fleet of safari vehicles and other transport assets, ensuring all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Perform routine maintenance and servicing on safari vehicles and lodge transport fleet
\nDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults in vehicles
\nCarry out repairs and replacements of defective parts and components
\nConduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and safety checks
\nMaintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed
\nEnsure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and safety standards
\nAdvise the Transport Manager on vehicle condition and maintenance requirements
\nManage workshop tools, equipment, and spare parts inventory
\nRespond to emergency breakdowns and roadside assistance calls
\nMaintain a clean and organized workshop environment<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
Education:\u00a0Diploma or equivalent qualification in Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Automotive Engineering, or related field
\nExperience:\u00a0Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience as a qualified mechanic
\nSpecialized Knowledge:\u00a0Demonstrated understanding and experience with safari vehicles and 4\u00d74 vehicle systems
\nCompetencies:\u00a0Strong diagnostic skills, ability to work independently, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities
\nAvailability:\u00a0Must be ready to commence employment immediately upon selection<\/p>\n
Desirable Qualifications<\/p>\n
Valid driver\u2019s license (C, C1)
\nCertification in diesel engine repair
\nExperience with Land Cruiser, Land Rover, or similar safari vehicle brands
\nWelding and fabrication skills
\nKnowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems<\/p>\n
