\nPurpose
\nThe Mechanical Gold Supervisor is responsible for the installation, management, safe operation, and maintenance of equipment in the Gold Area, including machinery and processes in a world-class operating plant.
\n Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal regulations (HSE, finance, HR, etc.).
\nOperate within Zambian laws.
\nDevelop safe working procedures and participate in HSE initiatives.
\nEnsure compliance with H&S standards (e.g., lockout\/tagout).
\nCreate and implement Standard Work Instructions (SWIs).
\nApply best-practice maintenance techniques.
\nConduct formal workplace inspections and corrective actions.
\nSupervise execution of maintenance plans.
\nUse computerized maintenance systems for scheduling and tracking.
\nReport on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
\nMonitor component wear and tear.
\nProvide hands-on technical and supervisory support.
\nRecommend improvements to plant design and equipment performance.
\nEnforce housekeeping standards.
\nManage team performance through reviews and coaching.
\nIdentify training opportunities and mentor staff.
\nPromote a positive employee environment.
\nPerform other duties as required.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related trade.
\nEIZ & ERB membership\/registration.
\nKnowledge of manual, electrical, and hydraulic tools.
\nProficiency in metrology and technical drawing interpretation.
\nComputer literacy and fluency.
\nExperience with PRONTO or similar systems.
\nStrong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
\nAbility to work in a multicultural environment.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum 5 years in maintenance operations in asset-intensive industries.
\nKnowledge of fixed plant equipment (e.g., concentrators, screens, pumps, cyclones).
\nMinimum 2 years in a supervisory role.
\nCompletion of leadership or supervisory training.<\/p>\n
