\nLevy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and experienced professionals to fill the following academic and clinical positions in the School of Nursing and Midwifery Sciences. All positions are on a full-time basis.<\/p>\n
14. TEACHING ASSISTANT \u2013 MIDWIFERY
\nJob Purpose:To support the delivery of Midwifery education through clinical teaching, skills demonstration, and supervision of students, ensuring effective application of public health principles in community and clinical settings in line with University and professional standards.
\nKey responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Support lecturers in teaching Diploma and undergraduate Midwifery courses.<\/p>\n
Supervise students during midwifery clinical placements and skills laboratory sessions.<\/p>\n
Demonstrate midwifery procedures in accordance with approved clinical guidelines.<\/p>\n
Assist in the assessment and documentation of students\u2019 clinical competencies.<\/p>\n
Reinforce professional conduct, ethical practice, and patient safety.<\/p>\n
Provide guidance and support to students during clinical training.<\/p>\n
Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.<\/p>\n
Participate in departmental academic activities as required.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Certificate with five credits including English, Mathematics, and Science.<\/p>\n
Bachelor of Science in Midwifery.<\/p>\n
Must have a minimum of two years Clinical teaching experience at university level or its equivalent.<\/p>\n
NMCZ registration and ZAQA clearance.<\/p>\n

Ability to demonstrate clinical procedures clearly and effectively.<\/p>\n
Good communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n

Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as part of an academic team.<\/p>\n
Advanced diploma in Clinical Instructing will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
