Syngenta Group is also committed to maintaining a workplace environment free from discrimination and Harassment.<\/p>\n<p>Job Description<\/p>\n<p>Role purpose<\/p>\n<p>Lead and grow the Seedcare business across Southern Africa by driving portfolio acceleration, NPI excellence, Key Account leadership, downstream market development, and P-A-S-S (Product\u2013Application\u2013Services\u2013Sustainability) execution.<br \/>\nManage and coordinate strategic Seedcare initiatives for Strategic Key Accounts operating across AME South, ensuring a unified customer experience, aligned value propositions, and seamless regional collaboration between South Africa, Southern Africa and Eastern Africa.<br \/>\nShape the seed industry through strong partnerships, stakeholder influence, and capability development while building a high\u2011performing team that delivers the AME South growth ambition.<\/p>\n<p>Key Accountabilities<br \/>\nA. Portfolio Leadership &amp; NPI Acceleration<\/p>\n<p>Own the Seedcare portfolio lifecycle in Southern Africa, including commercial, biological, and stewardship dimensions.<br \/>\nIdentify portfolio gaps, customer needs, and new business opportunities.<br \/>\nDrive portfolio management excellence for NPIs (VICTRATO, ARCANA\/NEVANZA, VIBRANCE Maxx, ATUVA, ARVATICO, NUELLO range, biologicals).<br \/>\nPartner with CPD, Marketing and AME Seedcare team to shape portfolio evolution and secure future pipeline readiness.<br \/>\nEnsure PASS value propositions are competitive and consistently executed.<\/p>\n<p>B. Key Account &amp; Commercial Leadership<\/p>\n<p>Develop and deliver account strategies for upstream seed companies and down-stream\/on\u2011farm partners.<br \/>\nLead commercial negotiations, pricing execution, and contract performance for Key Accounts based in Southern Africa.<br \/>\nStrengthen tender participation and deepen strategic partnerships with seed industry partners<br \/>\nEnsure Salesforce.com discipline with robust key account planning and customer relationship management (visits, planning, KA plans and strategy, business intelligence)<\/p>\n<p>C. Strategic Key Account Coordination (Bayer, Corteva, Seedco, Zamseed, Twiga, KSC)<\/p>\n<p>Collaborate closely with the Eastern Africa Business Development Lead to ensure seamless multi\u2011country execution for Strategic Key Accounts operating across AME South. The Southern Africa Business Manager is the strategic and commercial owner for Key Accounts based in Southern Africa and supports the Eastern Africa BD Lead with local execution when these ac-counts operate in Eastern Africa. Conversely, the Eastern Africa BD Lead is the strategic and commercial owner for Key Accounts based in Eastern Africa and supports the Southern Africa Business Manager with local execution when these accounts operate in AME South. This structure ensures a unified customer experience while maintaining clear single\u2011point ownership in each region.<br \/>\nDeploy PASS initiatives (Products, Application, Services, Sustainability) to drive differentiation.<br \/>\nLead downstream expansion via Seedcare Academy, On-Farm Seed Treatment (OST), quality assessments and SMARTLC diagnostics.<br \/>\nUse SCI services to strengthen customer loyalty through application support, wastewater management and stewardship.<br \/>\nEnsure high standards of stewardship, HSE compliance and safe-use practices.<\/p>\n<p>D. Market Shaping &amp; External Influence<\/p>\n<p>Build trusted relationships with regulators, associations, multipliers and industry partners.<br \/>\nInfluence regulatory frameworks and industry standards to support Seedcare adoption.<br \/>\nCo\u2011create solutions with strategic partners across cereals, soybeans, sunflower and emerging crops.<br \/>\nMonitor competitor activity and translate insights into action.<\/p>\n<p>E. Team Leadership &amp; Capability Development<\/p>\n<p>Lead and develop a team of 2\u20134 Seedcare professionals with clear performance expectations.<br \/>\nPromote a \u201cLead to Win\u201d culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.<br \/>\nStrengthen technical capability through field immersion and collaboration with CPD and SCI.<br \/>\nEnhance cross-functional ways of working across CPD, Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain and Finance.<\/p>\n<p>F. Business Delivery &amp; Operational Excellence<\/p>\n<p>Deliver annual sales, market share and gross profit targets for Southern Africa.<br \/>\nContribute to EASA Must-Wins through targeted KA support and NPI execution.<br \/>\nLead S&amp;OP, forecasting, budgeting and MBR cycles for the region.<br \/>\nEnsure disciplined pricing, commercial excellence and value extraction.<br \/>\nMaintain full compliance with HSE, stewardship and driving policies.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge, experience &amp; capabilities<br \/>\nCritical Knowledge<\/p>\n<p>Minimum 10 years in agriculture, seed, crop protection or seed treatment industry.<br \/>\nTertiary education in Agriculture, Marketing or Business Management preferably with postgraduate degree<br \/>\nDeep understanding of seed treatment technologies, crop agronomy and pest control practices<br \/>\nProven multi-country Key Account Management experience<br \/>\nDeep knowledge of agricultural markets, channel and GTM approaches<br \/>\nStrong track record in portfolio management and NPI launches.<\/p>\n<p>Critical Skills<\/p>\n<p>Strategic and commercial acumen<br \/>\nStrong negotiation and influencing skills<br \/>\nExcellent relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders<br \/>\nLeadership, coaching and talent development capability<br \/>\nClear communication and cross-cultural collaboration<br \/>\nEntrepreneurial mindset with disciplined execution<br \/>\nHigh integrity, safety mindset and transparent work style<\/p>\n<p>Stewardship &amp; Compliance<\/p>\n<p>Ensure complete compliance with Syngenta HSE, stewardship and driving policies.<br \/>\nPromote safe-use practices across all Seedcare operations<\/p>\n<p>Critical success factors &amp; key challenges<\/p>\n<p>Successful acceleration of NPIs and biologicals portfolio.<br \/>\nStrong multi-country KA execution aligned with AME South &amp; EASA priorities.<br \/>\nDownstream growth and strengthened customer loyalty.<br \/>\nImproved KA satisfaction and alignment across regions.<br \/>\nStrengthened team capability and cross-functional impact.<br \/>\nAchievement of sales, market share and GP targets.<\/p>\n<p>Additional Information<\/p>\n<p>Location: Zambia<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
