Also responsible for managing\u00a0logistics\u00a0and ensuring that transportation of cargo is handled efficiently, safely, and within budget.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities:<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles.<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Monitor and report on transportation costs<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure shipping documents are properly filed<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Report maintenance and repair needs for transportation vehicles and equipment<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Research and suggest cost-effective shipping methods<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Organize training sessions for drivers, and support staff (e.g. proper use of equipment and handling of hazardous material etc)<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Stay up-to-date with safety regulations<br \/>\nQualification and Requirements:<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a03 \u2013 5 years proven work experience as an Assistant Transportation Manager or a similar role<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Grade 12 School Certificate<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0A degree in Mathematics or Engineering plus CILT diploma or degree<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Solid knowledge of supply chain management<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Experience in preparing and tracking orders<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Familiarity with transport &amp; logistics software like Mix telematics or Geotab<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Excellent organizational skills<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Ability to supervise and train staff<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Problem-solving abilities<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
