The organization focuses on improving the wellbeing of children, youth, and caregivers in peri-urban Lusaka and Southern Province.<br \/>\nHwwZ implements integrated programs that promote health, education, economic empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods. These include Early Childhood Development, Kids Clubs for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Youth Hubs, adolescent health initiatives, gender-based violence prevention and response, economic empowerment, and livelihood support for vulnerable households.<br \/>\nBy working in close partnership with local communities, HOPE worldwide Zambia addresses the root causes of poverty and empowers communities and families to build resilient futures.<br \/>\nTo support its mission and ensure the effectiveness and impact of its programs, HOPE\u00a0worldwide\u00a0Zambia is seeking a dedicated and skilled Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer to join its team at it\u2019s Head Office, Lusaka. This role is vital in strengthening the organization\u2019s ability to track progress, measure outcomes, and continuously improve program delivery for the benefit of the communities served. The MEL Officer will report to the Programs Manager<\/p>\n<p>RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<p>Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation systems and frameworks to track progress and impact;<br \/>\nConduct regular data collection and analysis to measure performance and effectiveness of projects;<br \/>\nHelp with development of proposals \/grants<br \/>\nCollaborate with the Program Manager and teams to develop logical frameworks and indicators for projects;<br \/>\nCoordinate and facilitate the collection, management, and analysis of data;<br \/>\nPrepare and present detailed reports and findings to management and stakeholders;<br \/>\nSupport the program team in developing M&amp;E plans, Logic frameworks; and program data collection tools to ensure smooth running of the programmes<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with M&amp;E standards, policies, and procedures.<br \/>\nOther duties as assigned by the Supervisor<\/p>\n<p>2. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:<br \/>\nNumber of completed activities reviewed against M&amp;E targets and indicators<br \/>\n\u2022 Percentage of data collection frequency and reports collected from various stakeholders<br \/>\n\u2022 Number of project activities monitored in a quarter<br \/>\n\u2022 Timeliness and accuracy of data analysis and report generation (to be measured against report deadlines)<br \/>\n\u2022 M&amp;E analysis report of activities and findings reflecting organizational goals and strategic priorities.<br \/>\n\u2022 Innovative M&amp;E methodologies developed or introduced to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.<br \/>\n3. QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE<br \/>\nEducation<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Monitoring &amp; Evaluation, Development Studies, Demography, Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, or a related field.<br \/>\nA postgraduate qualification or certification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Management, or Research Methods is an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Experience<\/p>\n<p>Minimum of 2 years\u2019 experience working in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) within an NGO or development context.<br \/>\nProven experience in designing and implementing M&amp;E systems, logical frameworks, and performance indicators.<br \/>\nExperience in data collection, data quality assurance, analysis, and reporting.<br \/>\nExperience supporting proposal and grant development, including input into results frameworks, indicators, and M&amp;E budgets.<\/p>\n<p>4. TECHNICAL SKILLS &amp; COMPETENCIES<\/p>\n<p>Strong knowledge of results-based management (RBM) and theory of change.<br \/>\nAbility to develop M&amp;E plans, logframes, indicator tracking tables, and data collection tools.<br \/>\nProficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, KoboToolbox, DHIS2, SPSS, or similar platforms.<br \/>\nStrong report writing skills, including analytical and narrative reports.<br \/>\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to data quality, accuracy, and timeliness.<\/p>\n<p>5. SOFT SKILLS &amp; ATTRIBUTES<\/p>\n<p>Strong coordination and communication skills.<br \/>\nAbility to work collaboratively with program teams and external stakeholders.<br \/>\nHigh level of integrity and confidentiality in handling data.<br \/>\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.<br \/>\nProblem-solving mindset with an interest in learning and continuous improvement.<\/p>\n<p>6. ADDITIONAL M&amp;E INFORMATION<\/p>\n<p>The M&amp;E Officer will contribute to organizational learning by generating evidence to inform decision-making and program improvement.<br \/>\nThe role supports adaptive management by providing timely data and analysis to improve program effectiveness.<br \/>\nThe position requires field visits to monitor project implementation and verify data.<br \/>\nThe M&amp;E Officer will support the integration of gender, safeguarding, and accountability principles within M&amp;E systems.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing is Caring!
