\nREPORTING TO :\u00a0Head of Public Relations and Communication<\/p>\n
JOB PURPOSE<\/p>\n
To provide support services in the implementation of the COMESA Communications Strategy to increase public awareness and understanding of the COMESA integration agenda through sharing information, publicity activities, branding and maintaining a good corporate image.<\/p>\n
MAIN DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES<\/p>\n
Under the direct supervision of\u00a0the Head of Public Relations and Communication,\u00a0the incumbent of the post will perform the following duties:<\/p>\n
Coordinate media relations \u2013 ensure publicity for COMESA through media coverage of various events, activities and programmes;<\/p>\n
Plan and\u00a0coordinate media interviews for the Executive Management, programme experts and other stakeholders on COMESA programs;<\/p>\n
Generate and coordinate production and dissemination of all video content and photography on COMESA activities for news and documentaries;<\/p>\n
\u00a0<\/p>\n
Develop content for COMESA news publications and online platforms (website, X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram);<\/p>\n
Manage COMESA YouTube channel (ensuring regular updating);<\/p>\n
Prepare scripts and recordings for video\/ film productions;<\/p>\n
Engage stakeholders through corporate social responsibility initiatives and information sharing (presentations and study visits for learning institutions) and participating in Trade Fairs\/Expos;<\/p>\n
Receive and channel Press and Public queries to the relevant officers and make follow-up responses;<\/p>\n
Manage COMESA broadcast equipment (cameras and related accessories);
\nAssist with drafting the annual work program for the Unit; and<\/p>\n
Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.<\/p>\n
Minimum Academic AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
A minimum of a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Media Production, Journalism, Mass Communications or related field..<\/p>\n
Professional Experience<\/p>\n
Minimum three (3) years post qualification experience in a similar position in Public or Private Sector or International organization<\/p>\n
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:<\/p>\n
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications<\/p>\n
Proficiency photography and\u00a0video editing skills (Adobe Suites, Animations, Final Cut Pro) or related professional editing software.<\/p>\n
Social media management skills (designing content\/ editing\/uploading etc)<\/p>\n
Script writing<\/p>\n
Knowledge of print design is an added advantage.<\/p>\n
