The successful candidate must have strong hands-on agricultural experience combined with leadership and management capabilities to ensure optimal production, quality, and profitability.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities:<br \/>\nOverall management of macadamia orchard operations, from planting and establishment to harvesting and post-harvest handling.<br \/>\nManage irrigation programmes<br \/>\nManage soil health and nutrition programmes<br \/>\nManage pest and disease management (IPM) programmes and safe application of chemicals and biological controls.<br \/>\nPlan and oversee orchard maintenance activities.<br \/>\nSupervise harvesting operations, ensuring quality standards, correct timing, yield optimisation, and minimal losses.<br \/>\nManage labour teams \u2013 approx. 150<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and maintain high standards of workplace safety.<br \/>\nMaintain accurate farm records, including irrigation logs, spray records, fertiliser applications, yield data, labour records, and equipment maintenance schedules.<br \/>\nRequired Skills and Experience:<br \/>\n\u2022 Proven experience managing macadamia orchards<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong knowledge of:<br \/>\nIrrigation systems, operation, and maintenance<br \/>\nSoil fertility management and plant nutrition programmes<br \/>\nPest and disease identification and control methods<br \/>\nOrchard maintenance and harvesting practices<br \/>\nStrong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising farm teams.<br \/>\nGood understanding of chemical handling, application techniques, and safety standards.<br \/>\nExperience with farm record-keeping systems and basic farm management software.<br \/>\nPractical problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to farm management.<br \/>\nGood communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders.<br \/>\nQualifications:<br \/>\n\u2022 Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field (advantageous).<br \/>\n\u2022 Agri Certifications (an added advantage).<br \/>\n\u00a0Personal Attributes:<br \/>\n\u2022 Strong work ethic and high level of responsibility.<br \/>\n\u2022 Organised, detail-oriented, and results-driven.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
