\nForest Africa Zambia Ltd is a Zambian-based company dedicated to sustainable natural resource management and the commercialization of inclusive indigenous non-timber forest-based value chains. The company works with rural communities to support livelihoods, empower women and youth, and promote environmental conservation through initiatives such as wild fruit collection, baobab and other indigenous fruit processing, and reforestation programs. Forest Africa Zambia Ltd also produces high-quality organic beverages and products, adhering to food safety and quality standards, while fostering climate resilience and sustainable community development.
\nForest Africa Zambia Ltd, with the support of SNV Zambia and Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), through the Innovations for Poverty (IAP) challenge fund program, is implementing a business scale up project focused on strengthening inclusive supply chain (focus on smallholder strengthening) , improved processing capacity and increased distribution to local and potential export market.<\/p>\n
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions to join our project team:\u00a0Project Manager, MEL Specialist, Logistics Officer, and Project Accounts Officer.
\nLogistics Officer
\nJob Title:\u00a0Logistics Officer
\nReports to:\u00a0Project Manager
\nDuty Station:\u00a0Chilanga with extensive field travel
\nPurpose of the Role
\nTo manage all logistics, procurement, transportation, and distribution activities to support aggregation, processing, storage, and market distribution of wild fruit products.
\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Coordinate transportation and logistics for project activities, field operations, and community engagements.
\nSafely drive project vehicles and ensure timely transport of staff, materials, equipment, and products to project sites.
\nRegularly inspect and maintain project vehicles to ensure safe operation, including checking fluid levels, tires, brakes, lights, and other essential components.
\nPlan efficient travel routes, considering traffic, road, and weather conditions.
\nAssist with loading and unloading of materials, equipment, and goods as needed.
\nMaintain clear communication with project staff regarding travel schedules, changes, or delays.
\nKeep accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, maintenance, and any incidents.
\nEnsure compliance with organizational policies, traffic regulations, and safety protocols.
\nAct as a professional representative of the project when interacting with staff, stakeholders, and community members.<\/p>\n
Experience & Skills<\/p>\n
Proven hands-on experience in logistics, transport, or field operations.
\nPractical knowledge of vehicle operation, maintenance, and safe driving practices.
\nStrong organizational and coordination skills.
\nAbility to work in rural and field-based environments.
\nAbility to follow instructions and work under minimal supervision.
\nGood communication and interpersonal skills.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
Valid Zambian driver\u2019s license (Class C minimum; PSV preferred).
\nBasic education (Grade 12 or equivalent).
\nPrior driving experience with a clean driving record.
\nKnowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and first aid is an added advantage.<\/p>\n
