\nWestern Water Supply and Sanitation Company (WWSSC) is a Commercial Water Utility Company engaged in the business of providing water supply and sanitation services to its customers in the Urban and Peri- Urban areas of Western Province of Zambia. In a bid to enhance service delivery and customer service management, Western Water Supply and Sanitation Company Limited being an equal opportunities employer, is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position:
\nCREDIT CONTROLLER
\nJOB PURPOSE:
\nTo support the implementation of the revenue collection strategy through analysis of receivables in line with the company`s commercial policy (revenue collections, revenue collections analysis, and customer engagement) in order to reduce\/maintain debtors to a reasonable level.
\nACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
\n1 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Must have a\u00a0full Grade 12\u00a0certificate\u00a0or\u00a0its equivalent
\n2\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The candidate shall hold a minimum qualification of a Bachelor\u2019s in Accountancy; Bachelor\u2019s
\nof Business Administration; Bachelor of Economics, Full ACCA; or the equivalent
\n3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Must have a valid subscription with a professional body
\n4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0ZAQA validation certificates
\nMINIMUM RELEVANT JOB EXPERIENCE
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Three (3) years of relevant experience
\nMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
\n1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To evaluate the credit status of clients to identify debtors and credit level
\n2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To assist customers in setting up a credit control system that allows for periodic debt repayment
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To conduct negotiations with debtors to fix terms and conditions for the payment of receivables
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To ensure daily cash and debtor targets are met
\n5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To contact debtors through calls, emails or letters to notify them of outstanding water and sanitation bills
\n6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To maintain regular contact with WWSSC clients to ensure proper management of debt
\n7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To conduct business operations in compliance with WWSSC Commercial Policy
\n8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To maintain proper records of WWSSC customers\u2019 accounts
\n9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0To monitor customer payment history to identify changes in amends and take necessary actions
\n10.\u00a0\u00a0Conduct monthly reconciliation of debtor ledger accounts
\n11.\u00a0\u00a0Proffer recommendations and advice on queries regarding accounts receivable
\n12.\u00a0\u00a0Ensure prompt reply to client and internal feedback
\nREQUIRED COMPETENCES\/PERSONAL QUALITIES:
\n\u00d8\u00a0Math Skills:\u00a0The credit controller job requires a decent level of mathematical skill which finds regular use in reconciliation of accounts and handling of debtor ledger
\n\u00d8\u00a0Decision Making Skill:\u00a0Credit controllers are able to develop and implement appropriate strategies necessary for the settlement of client debts
\n\u00d8\u00a0Communication Skills: They are well versed in communicating with debtors to facilitate periodic debt repayment.
