The\u00a0Key Purpose\u00a0of the role is to safely operate and maintain the Utilities plant to produce a consistent product\/service\/utility of the right quality\/quantity at optimum cost.

Key Role and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Prepare for plant start-up
\nStart up the plant safely and efficiently
\nOperate the plant under optimal conditions
\nShut down the plant according to standard procedures
\nExecute routine and deep cleaning of plant equipment
\nComplete operational and shift documentation accurately and on time
\nControl and optimize input usage (water, steam, electricity, chemicals)
\nEnsure all plant systems are in good working order
\nMaintain a clean, safe, and healthy working environment
\nMeasure key performance attributes (e.g., pressure, flow, temperature)
\nRecord performance data reliably for trending and analysis
\nMonitor system trends to anticipate and prevent deviations
\nAssure quality of all incoming utilities and inputs
\nTake corrective action promptly in case of process deviations
\nConduct autonomous maintenance (cleaning, inspections, lubrication)
\nRespond effectively to breakdowns and restore functionality safely
\nPractice safe maintenance techniques in accordance with SOPs
\nEnsure all maintenance tools and equipment are in proper working order
\nCommunicate effectively with colleagues, team leaders, and support departments
\nContribute to self-development and assist in team knowledge sharing
\nParticipating in shift handovers and improvement meetings
\nAchieve utility shift efficiency targets (e.g., kWh\/ton, m\u00b3\/ton)
\nMaintain consistent product\/service\/utility quality
\nConduct quality checks at required intervals
\nTrack and improve usage ratios
\nAdhere to 5S standards for equipment and work area organization
\nMaintain high equipment performance and reliability
\nReduce time to detect and correct defects
\nMaintain good housekeeping across the work area
\nImplement GEMs (Global Excellence in Manufacturing) practices
\nFollow the PPE policy and ensure full compliance
\nIdentify and report unsafe acts or conditions
\nPromote a proactive safety culture through safe work practices
\nConduct and complete 5-Why root cause analyses<\/p>\n

\nMinimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
Full Craft Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical \/ Electrical \/ Process Engineering.
\nMinimum 2\u20133 years\u2019 experience in operating industrial coal\/oil\/gas-fired boilers.
\nKnowledge of combustion control, water treatment, and boiler automation systems.
\nFTC (Mech \/ Elec) or Electromechanical preferred.
\nProfessional Certification: Boiler Operator Certificate (Class I or II) preferred.<\/p>\n
