Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Job Purpose:
\nTo design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software applications that meet user and business requirements. The Systems Developer Officer works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to analyse needs, solve problems through innovative solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes. Key Responsibilities:

\n\u2022 Analyse user requirements and translate them into functional technical specifications.
\n\u2022 Design, develop, test, and implement software applications using appropriate programming languages and tools.
\n\u2022 Maintain and enhance existing systems by identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary updates.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Collaborate with other developers, designers, system analysts, and project managers to deliver projects on time and within scope.
\n\u2022 Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
\n\u2022 Troubleshoot and debug software issues and provide timely resolutions.
\n\u2022 Document software designs, code, and procedures for future maintenance and upgrades.
\n\u2022 Participate in research and development activities to stay current with emerging technologies and trends.
\n\u2022 Ensure software meets security, scalability, and performance standards.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Support users and provide post-deployment maintenance and enhancements.<\/p>\n
Education Requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s degree in Computer Science,\u00a0\u00a0Software\u00a0Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
\n\u2022 Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development or application programming.
\n\u2022 Proven experience with development tools, frameworks, and languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL, or equivalent. Knowledge of Elixir will be an advantage.
\n\u2022 Relevant experience with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
\n\u2022 Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI\/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies.
\n\u2022 Familiarity with databases, APIs, and web services integration.<\/p>\n
Required Skills<\/p>\n
\u2022 Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
\n\u2022 Proficiency in object-oriented programming and software architecture principles.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ability to develop responsive web or mobile applications (depending on role). \u2022 Working knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is an advantage.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of cybersecurity and secure coding practices.
\n\u2022 Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
\n\u2022 Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
\n\u2022 Effective communication and documentation skills.
\n\u2022 Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
\n\u2022 Logical and critical thinking abilities.
\n\u2022Team player with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
\n\u2022 Initiative and a proactive approach to work.
