\nThe traineeship is designed to provide the incumbent with practical, hands\u2011on experience in corporate affairs and communications.
\nThe trainee will learn how communication drives business objectives, risk management, and corporate reputation. At the same time, they will contribute operational value by assisting with content creation, stakeholder engagement, media monitoring, and communication campaigns.
\nPosition
\nThe program is based on the following fundamental learning activities<\/p>\n
Media Relations (Primary)
\nDraft press releases, advisories, and holding statements
\nPrepare background briefs and fact sheets for journalist queries
\nConduct daily media monitoring and flag risks\/opportunities
\nMaintain media contacts database and track engagement
\nSupport interviews, site visits, and media events
\nAssist with media reporting and post-event evaluations
\nInternal Communications (Primary)
\nDraft\/edit newsletters, intranet posts, and Knowledge Bites
\nSupport leadership communications (emails, memos, presentations)
\nPrepare materials for town halls and campaigns
\nManage internal communication calendars and pipelines
\nSupport employee engagement initiatives
\nExternal Communications & Digital Content (Secondary)
\nPlan, schedule, and report on social media content
\nCreate digital assets (videos, infographics, blogs, photos)
\nEnsure brand consistency in external materials
\nTrack and report digital performance metrics
\nPublic Affairs & Government Relations (Exposure)
\nMonitor policies and regulatory updates
\nAssist with stakeholder mapping and tracking
\nPrepare advocacy briefs, meeting notes, and engagement summaries
\nAttend selected stakeholder meetings for learning
\nCommunity Investments & Sustainability (Exposure)
\nSupport community engagement projects and reporting
\nContribute to ESG reporting inputs
\nDraft CI communication materials (brochures, case studies, success stories)
\nSupport stakeholder communication linked to community investments
\nOn-the-Job Training Approach
\nStructured mentorship within CAC
\nHands-on assignments on live projects and campaigns
\nShadowing team members in meetings and engagements
\nProgressive responsibility from support tasks to independent deliverables
\nRegular feedback and coaching sessions with the CAC Manager<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Public Relations, or Mass Communication
\nMust be a 2024\/2025 University Graduate with a credit or better.
\nInternship experience in communications, PR, or related fields is an added advantage.
\nExcellent command of English, both oral and written.
\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently.
\nDetail-oriented, accurate, structured, and well-organized in approach.
\nProactive and a fast learner, with a strong sense of urgency, and a collaborative team player.
\nHigh level of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks effectively.<\/p>\n
