VAC-2026-0002: TECHNICIAN METERING<\/p>\n

\nThis role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing metering equipment and test instruments in order to ensure correct operation on all metering infrastructure. The role will report to the Supervisor- Metering.
\nKey Accountabilities<\/p>\n
Carry out calibration of energy meters to ensure meters operate within the required accuracies.
\nUndertake repairs and calibration of high voltage and low voltage test instruments to ensure availability for the effective maintenance of primary equipment.
\nCarry out installations and assist in commissioning of metering schemes for the purposes of maintaining and upgrading existing systems in the effort of generating revenue, meeting new load and regulatory requirements.
\nCarry out condition-based maintenance of energy meters, alarm schemes, summation equipment, and voltage selection equipment to ensure correct operations at all times.
\nCarry out metering activities most efficiently and effectively to ensure that the same are performed\u00a0right the first time.
\nUndertake other jobs that may be added from time to time in compliance with the company\u2019s programs of multi-skilling.
\nUndertake and complete given assignments within the allocated time frame to avoid unnecessary overtime.
\nUndertake preventive measures for unsafe practices, and conduct toolbox talks before every activity is undertaken.
\nEnsure good housekeeping in all work activities and participate in SHE meetings.
\nParticipate and attend to defects for the prepayment metering platforms and offer assistance for customers having difficulties with recharge activities.
\nEnsure that all company resources in the workshop are used solely for company purposes and that there is no misuse of assets such as vehicles, tools, and other materials.
\nCarry out repairs to load control circuits for the CEC system control office and customers for a healthy state of circuits at all times for effective load management and peak looping activities.
\nEnsure that the Measurands to Control Office are accurate at all times for timely decision-making in the control room.<\/p>\n

\nTo be considered for this role, you will be required to have:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Full Certificate.
\nTechnician Certificate in Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation.
\nMember of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
\nMinimum 3 years\u2019 post-qualification experience gained in an environment of similar context and complexity.<\/p>\n
