VAC-2026-0001: TECHNICIAN MECHANICAL

\nThis role is responsible for carrying out mechanical maintenance work, installation and repair of a range of mechanical fixed plant and equipment in an effective, efficient, and cost-effective manner to ensure the sustenance of company operations. The role will report to the Supervisor \u2013 Mechanical Field Services.
\nKey Accountabilities<\/p>\n
Install and modify new and existing mechanical plant and equipment in accordance with technical standards, layout plans, drawings, manuals and regulatory requirements.
\nDismantle and assemble mechanical plant equipment using a range of hand-held power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools.
\nInstall system equipment efficiently to avoid constant power disruptions.
\nTroubleshoot and carry out fault analysis investigations on a range of substation mechanical equipment to determine root cause of mechanical faults and breakdowns.
\nConduct weekly inspection checks on mechanical system equipment to ensure that the system is always running efficiently.
\nCarry out system equipment maintenance duties to enhance equipment availability.
\nRepair and replace defective components on mechanical equipment to restore equipment to reliable functionality.
\nUndertake prompt mechanical repairs on system equipment to maintain continuous operations of equipment.
\nCompile detailed maintenance sheets in a proper and timely manner to facilitate record keeping.
\nEnsure the maintenance sheet date is accurately captured on the maintenance enterprise resource planning (ERP) tool.
\nCarry out mechanical field maintenance activities in the most effective and efficient manner to ensure that work is performed right the first time.
\nUndertake any other job that may be assigned from time to time in compliance with company programmes of multi-skilling.
\nEnsure that all company resources under the section are used solely for company purposes and that there is no misuse of assets such as vehicles, tools etc.<\/p>\n
To be considered for this role, you will be required to have:<\/p>\n
Grade 12 Full certificate.
\nMechanical Technician Certificate.
\nMember of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
\nMinimum of four (4) years\u2019 post-qualification experience gained in an environment of similar context and complexity.<\/p>\n
