\nThe Radiation Protection Authority (RPA) is a Regulatory Body under the Ministry of Technology and Science established by the Ionising Radiation Protection Act No. 16 of 2005 and its Amendment Act No. 19 of 2011. RPA\u2019s mandate is to protect the public, workers and the environment from hazards arising from the use of devices or materials capable of producing Ionising Radiation.

\nJob Objective
\nTo manage and coordinate the development and implementation of strategic communication programmes in order to ensure effective communication, consistent information and maintain a positive corporate image of the Authority.
\nEmployment Resources
\nMain Duties<\/p>\n
Manages and coordinates effectively the development and implementation of communication polices in order to provide a framework for corporate communication and protect the image of the Authority.<\/p>\n
Manages and coordinates effectively the development and implementation of a corporate communication strategy in order to guide information dissemination and ensure structured communication.<\/p>\n
Manages and coordinates effectively the development and review of a crisis communication plan in order to manage communication in times of crisis.<\/p>\n
Manages and coordinates effectively the development and dissemination of IEC materials and publications in order to create visibility and promote the Authority\u2019s programmes.<\/p>\n
Manages and coordinates timely and accurately the preparation and dissemination of press and media releases in order to provide real-time information to the public and address topical issues.<\/p>\n
Manages timely updating of content on the website and other online platforms in order to provide up-to-date information on the Authority\u2019s programmes.<\/p>\n
Manages effectively establishment and maintenance of strategic partnerships with media houses in order to promote information sharing and visibility.<\/p>\n
Manages and coordinates effectively the development and implementation of Radio and TV programmes in order to create awareness on the Authority\u2019s programmes.<\/p>\n
Manages effectively implementation of performance management systems in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.<\/p>\n
Manages effectively human and financial resources in order to enhance implementation of programmes and achievement of set objectives<\/p>\n
Minimum Vocational\/Professional Qualifications<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12\/Form (V) School Certificate
\nDegree in Mass Communication\/Public Relations or equivalent
\nMaster`s Degree in Mass Communication\/Public Relations or equivalent
\nZIPR Full Membership with the Zambia Institute of Public Relations<\/p>\n
Minimum Relevant Pre-Job Experience
\nEight (8) years of which four (4) should be at management level

Able to communicate effectively in English.<\/p>\n
