Position: Project Manager \u2013 IoT Hardware & Deployment

\n1. Role Purpose
\nThe Project Manager \u2013 IoT Hardware & Deployment will lead the end-to-end development, production, assembly, and field deployment of PCB-based IoT sensors for Ecovolt\u2019s solar mini-grid and water systems.
\nThe role bridges\u00a0electronics engineering, supply chain coordination, field deployment, and technical workforce development, ensuring reliable hardware integration into Ecovolt\u2019s smart energy infrastructure
\n2. Key Responsibilities
\nA. PCB Design & Product Development<\/p>\n
Lead schematic capture and PCB layout design.
\nOversee circuit simulation, testing, and iteration.
\nEnsure compliance with IoT sensor specifications (power management, communication modules, durability).
\nDevelop production-ready design files (Gerber, BOM, assembly drawings).<\/p>\n
B. Manufacturing & Supply Chain Coordination<\/p>\n
Identify and coordinate PCB fabrication partners (e.g., China-based manufacturers).
\nManage procurement of electronic components.
\nOversee quality assurance prior to shipment.
\nEnsure cost optimization and timely production cycles.<\/p>\n
C. Assembly & Quality Control<\/p>\n
Supervise local electronics assembly processes.
\nEstablish testing protocols and QA standards.
\nTroubleshoot hardware failures and optimize board performance.<\/p>\n
D. Deployment & Systems Integration<\/p>\n
Oversee installation of IoT boards on mini-grids and solar water systems.
\nEnsure integration with monitoring platforms and cloud systems.
\nLead fault diagnosis and field performance validation.<\/p>\n
E. Training & Supervision<\/p>\n
Design and deliver structured technical training for Electrical Trainees.
\nSupervise trainee technicians during assembly and deployment.
\nBuild internal technical capacity for long-term scalability.<\/p>\n
F. Project Management & Reporting<\/p>\n
Develop detailed project timelines and milestones.
\nTrack hardware production and deployment KPIs.
\nReport progress, risks, and mitigation plans to leadership.<\/p>\n
3. Required Qualifications<\/p>\n
Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Electrical\/Electronic Engineering (Minimum)
\nExperience in PCB design (Altium, KiCad, Eagle or similar)
\nStrong background in electronics prototyping and assembly
\nExperience with IoT systems and embedded hardware
\nDemonstrated project management experience
\nMinimum 5 years relevant experience<\/p>\n
4. Technical Competencies<\/p>\n
Schematic capture & PCB layout
\nMicrocontrollers (ESP32, STM, Arduino or similar)
\nPower electronics & solar integration
\nCircuit debugging & signal testing
\nSupply chain coordination
\nBasic cloud\/IoT integration knowledge<\/p>\n

Experience in renewable energy systems
\nExperience managing hardware production internationally
\nTraining and mentorship capability
\nAbility to work in rural deployment environments

\nThis role is central to Ecovolt\u2019s scale strategy of deploying IoT-enabled mini-grids and productive-use energy systems, ensuring technology reliability while building local technical capacity.
