Position: Lab Assistant
\nLocation: Livingstone, Zambia
\nNature of Position: Soil Testing and Laboratory Data Management
\nReporting Line: Lab Specialists \/ Operations Manager
\nContract Type & Duration:
\nThis is a contract-based role with an initial three (3) month probationary period, with the
\npossibility of extension or longer-term engagement subject to performance and project
\nrequirements.
\nWorking Conditions:
\nThis role involves extensive laboratory activities, including soil testing, receiving, storing, and
\ndispatching soil samples, as well as recording lab data. Candidates should be prepared to work
\nindoors performing laboratory duties.

\nJob Summary:
\nCarbon is seeking a motivated Lab Assistant to support soil testing operations and laboratory data
\nrecording activities in Livingstone, Zambia.
\nRoles & Responsibilities:
\n\u2022 Assist in the preparation of laboratory materials, reagents, and equipment for experiments and
\ntests
\n\u2022 Conduct routine soil testing and laboratory experiments
\n\u2022 Record and analyze experimental data accurately and maintain detailed records.
\n\u2022 Perform basic laboratory techniques, including weighing, mixing, and sample preparation
\n\u2022 Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment
\n\u2022 Support the development and optimization of experimental procedures
\n\u2022 Assist with other tasks or projects as assigned by laboratory management.
\nEligibility Criteria:
\n\u2022 Graduate Diploma or Bachelor\u2019s degree in Lab Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Soil Science,
\nMicrobiology, or a related field
\n\u2022 At least 1 year of experience in soil testing work. (fresh graduates with practical soil testing
\nexposure are encouraged to apply)
\n\u2022 Based in or willing to relocate to Livingstone, Zambia
\nEssential Requirements:
\n\u2022 Android Smartphone and Basic computer skills, including MS Office tools
\n\u2022 Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
\n\u2022 Good communication and teamwork skills.
\nPreferred Skills:<\/p>\n
Familiarity with laboratory soil testing protocols and standard procedures.<\/p>\n
