\nReports To: Founder \/ Board of Directors
\nRole Summary:
\nThis is a high-level internship for a graduate student or young professional seeking exposure to social enterprise leadership. You will work directly with the Founder on strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and grant coordination. You will learn how a grassroots organization operates from the inside out.
\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\u2022 Grant Support: Assist in drafting grant proposals and reports for donors such as the World Diabetes Foundation.
\n\u2022 Stakeholder Coordination: Accompany the Founder to meetings with Chiefs, Headmen, and Ministry of Health officials in Namwala. Take minutes and track action items.
\n\u2022 Field Monitoring: Visit HIM Garden and H4HIM mobile clinic sites to observe operations and document progress.
\n\u2022 Communications: Draft internal memos, external letters, and basic content for social media highlighting HIMZ activities in Namwala.
\n\u2022 Research: Assist in gathering data on diabetes and hypertension prevalence in Namwala District for future programming.
\nLearning Outcomes:
\n\u2022 Understand the mechanics of running a rural health NGO.
\n\u2022 Gain experience in grant writing and donor reporting.
\n\u2022 Build relationships with traditional leaders and government officials.
\n\u2022 Develop skills in project monitoring and evaluation.<\/p>\n
Qualifications:
\n\u2022 Recent graduate or final-year student in Public Health, Business Administration, Development Studies, or related field.
\n\u2022 Strong writing and\u00a0\u00a0communication skills.
\n\u2022 Interest in men\u2019s health, NCDs, or geriatric care.
\n\u2022 Willingness to live in rural conditions and travel by bicycle\/motorbike to remote villages.
