Reporting to the Coordinator \u2013 Compliance, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing preventive and corrective maintenance of all workshop equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and operational efficiency
\nYour duties will include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for all workshop equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
\nConduct routine inspections, condition monitoring, and fault diagnosis to identify potential equipment failures.
\nRespond promptly to equipment breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs to minimize operational downtime.
\nEnsure all workshop equipment complies with statutory regulations, OEM standards, and mine safety procedures, including certification and periodic inspections of lifting and pressure equipment.
\nCalibrate and test precision tools, gauges, and workshop equipment to ensure accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, service logs, inspection reports, and equipment asset registers.
\nCoordinate, supervise, and liaise with external contractors and vendors during specialized repairs, installations, and statutory inspections.
\nMonitor the availability of spare parts and consumables, manage inventory levels, and coordinate procurement to ensure uninterrupted maintenance operations.
\nProvide technical guidance, coaching, and support to workshop personnel on proper equipment usage, care, and troubleshooting.
\nReview maintenance processes and performance data to identify areas for improvement, implement enhancements, and contribute to workshop efficiency and equipment reliability.\u00a0
\nContractor and Vendor Coordination Manage and supervise external service providers during specialized repairs, statutory inspections, and equipment installations.
\nContinuous Improvement and Technical Support Identify opportunities to improve workshop processes, equipment reliability, and efficiency while providing technical guidance and training to workshop personnel.<\/p>\n
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
\nMinimum Craft Certificate in any engineering field from a recognized learning institution.
\nMinimum 3 years\u2019 work experience in an engineering role.\u00a0
\nMinimum Certificate in Teaching Methodology from a recognized learning institution.
\nMust have experience working in the mining industry.
\nClass C Driver\u2019s license will be an added advantage.
\nExperience in working in engineering fields.
\nExperience in the mining industry will be an added advantage.
\nAbility to communicate effectively across all levels.
\nStrong in numeracy and presentation skills.<\/p>\n
