Reporting to the Coordinator \u2013 Apprenticeship and Graduates, you will be responsible for planning and
\ndelivering a structured learning pathway that develops apprentices and graduates into competent and safety-conscious Heavy Mobile Mining equipment operators.
\nYour Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
Plan and implement structured training programmes for apprentices and graduates on Heavy Mobile Equipment, ensuring alignment with operational and safety standards.
\nDeliver classroom-based theoretical training on equipment systems, controls, safe operating procedures, traffic management, hazard identification, and emergency response.
\nConduct practical, hands-on training on equipment such as haul trucks including pre-start inspections, safe maneuvering, loading and dumping techniques, and shutdown procedures.
\nCoordinate supervised on-the-job training exposure, ensuring learners operate equipment strictly within their authorized competency and supervision levels.
\nAssess learner competence through written tests, practical field evaluations, simulator assessments (where applicable), and completion of logbooks.
\nMaintain accurate training records, operator authorization matrices, certification status, and refresher schedules within the Learning Management System (LMS).
\nMonitor operator performance and identify skills gaps, recommending refresher training or corrective coaching where necessary.
\nIntegrate incident learnings, near-miss reports, audit findings, and updated procedures into training content to reinforce critical risk controls.
\nLiaise with Mining Supervisors, Maintenance personnel, Safety Officers, and programme coordinators to ensure training supports operational productivity and compliance.
\nEnsure all training materials and assessments are aligned with OEM standards, site procedures, and applicable mining regulations.<\/p>\n
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n
Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
\nMinimum Certificate in Haul Trucks operations or related fields.
\nMinimum Certificate in Teaching Methodology from a recognized learning institution.
\nMinimum 3 years\u2019 experience in operating mining equipment
\nExperience in training & development of operators in various trucks operations in the open pit mine
\nValid registration with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ)
\nHave a valid Zambian driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n
