\nLumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed individual for the position of Accountant \u2013 Treasury to join the versatile Commercial Department team. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick\u2019s DNA by:

\nReporting to the Senior Accountant \u2013 Financial Reporting, you will be responsible for effectively overseeing the cash management, banking relations and compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
\nYour Duties and Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
\nEnsure proper recording of financial transactions.
\nEnsure that Reconciliations of bank accounts are accurate and timely.
\nForecast and monitor cash flows to ensure the availability of funds for operational needs.
\nExecute daily cash positioning and reconcile cash transactions.
\nOptimize cash balances to maximize returns while maintaining liquidity.
\nEnsure rolling Cashflow forecast is provided weekly as per advised timelines and ad hoc as requested.
\nEnsure statutory payments are made in timely manner.
\nEstablish and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions.
\nCoordinate debt issuance, repayments, and refinancing as necessary.
\nPrepare debt-related reports for internal and external stakeholders.
\nMonitor and report on risk management activities.
\nPrepare and analyze financial reports related to treasury activities.
\nCirculate bank position as per internal reporting guidelines.
\nEnsure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
\nProvide financial information for internal and external audits.
\nManage prepayment accounts, ensuring timely posting of prepayments to vendor accounts.
\nWeekly reconciliation of prepayment accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting (address and resolve discrepancies between prepayments and invoices in coordination with vendors and Supply Chain\/End-users)
\nStay abreast of financial regulations and ensure compliance with relevant laws and industry standards.
\nImplement and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
\nCollaborate with other departments to develop budgets and financial forecasts related to treasury functions.
\nIdentify specific areas for cost improvement and ensure the development and implementation of action plans to achieve these gains (Cost saving initiatives).
\nEnsuring that the organization\u2019s accounting policies, procedures and standards are implemented effectively and, in a manner, consistent with the development of a cost-conscious culture in the workforce.
\nTo be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
\nFull Grade 12 School Certificate.
\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
\nProfessional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA will be an added advantage.
\nMember of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
\nMinimum of 3 years\u2019 work experience; experience in the mining sector will be an added advantage.
\nStrong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and contract management.
\nGood knowledge of relevant legislation affecting employment and safety within the mining industry in Zambia.
