Through Solar Home Systems (SHS) and solar-powered freezers enabled by Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) technology, the company is expanding nationwide access to affordable, clean energy while building a commercially sustainable distribution platform.<br \/>\nRole Overview<br \/>\nThe General Manager will lead the nationwide rollout of SHS PAYGO operations and oversee all day-to-day operational activities. The role involves building and managing a high-performing sales, service, and collections organization capable of delivering thousands of SHS sales per month. It requires a hands-on leader comfortable working in dynamic, field-driven environments and traveling regularly across Zambia.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities;<br \/>\nOperational Leadership<br \/>\nLead nationwide SHS rollout and execution<br \/>\nEstablish and manage regional sales and service structures<br \/>\nEnsure operational readiness of hubs and field teams<br \/>\nImplement KPIs, reporting systems, and operational controls<br \/>\nSales &amp; Distribution<br \/>\nRecruit, train, and manage regional coordinators and sales agents<br \/>\nDrive achievement of monthly sales and activation targets<br \/>\nMonitor agent productivity and regional performance<br \/>\nBuild a strong, performance-driven sales culture<br \/>\nPortfolio &amp; Customer Performance<br \/>\nEnsure effective customer onboarding<br \/>\nMonitor repayment performance and early portfolio health<br \/>\nCoordinate with finance and customer service teams to minimize defaults<br \/>\nOperations &amp; Inventory<br \/>\nMaintain accountability for inventory allocation and movement<br \/>\nEnforce operational discipline across all locations<br \/>\nCoordinate logistics and service delivery processes<br \/>\nTeam Leadership &amp; Culture<br \/>\nSet clear performance expectations<br \/>\nEnforce accountability and professionalism<br \/>\nDevelop leadership capacity within the organization<br \/>\nCandidate Profile;<br \/>\nRequired Experience<br \/>\n5\u20138 years of operational leadership experience<br \/>\nExperience managing field sales, distribution, or agent-based networks in PAYGO solar, telecommunications, FMCG, microfinance, or similar sectors<br \/>\nProven ability to manage decentralized teams<br \/>\nStrong track record of delivering commercial targets<br \/>\nPreferred Experience<br \/>\nOff-grid solar or PAYGO business models<br \/>\nBuilding agent or distributor networks<br \/>\nWorking in rural or last-mile markets<br \/>\nManaging rural micro-credit operations<br \/>\nPersonal Attributes<br \/>\nHighly execution-oriented and hands-on<br \/>\nStrong leadership, accountability, and integrity<br \/>\ncomfortable in fast-changing environments<br \/>\nPofessional and results-driven<br \/>\nReporting &amp; Contract<br \/>\nReports directly to the Board of Directors<br \/>\nFull day-to-day operational authority (no corporate signatory responsibility)<br \/>\nFixed-term, performance-based contract with competitive salary<br \/>\nClear pathway to potential future appointment as Managing Director<br \/>\nDiversity Commitment<br \/>\nIn line with the company\u2019s gender inclusion commitments, applications are open to female candidates only.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
