The Company is seeking to employ a qualified candidate to fill the position of Assistant Procurement Officer. The main duties of the successful candidate will include:<br \/>\nIdentify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, service, and reliability. Build strong vendor relationships and maintain an updated supplier database.<br \/>\nDevelop and implement procurement strategies and plans that align with the organization\u2019s goals, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.<br \/>\nNegotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.<br \/>\nPrepare, issue, and track purchase orders based on approved requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal procedures.<br \/>\nWork closely with the finance team to manage procurement budgets, control spending, and seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.<br \/>\nEnsure all procurement activities comply with organizational policies, ethical standards, and relevant laws or regulations. Identify and mitigate procurement risks.<br \/>\nWork closely with the Site managers and other end users to prepare Procurement Budgets for Stock Items.<br \/>\nContinuously monitor market trends, supplier innovations, and pricing changes to maintain a competitive edge and inform procurement decisions.<br \/>\nMaintain accurate procurement records and prepare periodic reports on procurement activities, cost savings, supplier performance, etc.<br \/>\nThe successful will be required to have the following qualifications:<br \/>\nMust have a Grade 12 Certificate (including Mathematics and English)<br \/>\nDiploma in Procurement, Purchasing and Supply, Degree will be an added advantage<br \/>\nAt least 1 year\u2019 of proven experience as a Procurement Officer<br \/>\nOn the other hand, the key competencies are:<br \/>\nStrong communication and negotiation skills.<br \/>\nAnalytical mindset and attention to detail.<br \/>\nAbility to handle challenging customer situations professionally.<br \/>\nFamiliarity with procurement software and reporting tools.<br \/>\nSharing is Caring!
