The Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) is an institution established under the Persons with Disabilities 1996 Act and continued by the Persons with Disabilities Act No. 06 of 2012 with a mandate to plan, promote, coordinate, regulate and administer inclusive services for and of persons with disabilities in the country.

\nJob Purpose
\nTo render service delivery to persons with disabilities in rehabilitation, resettlement, employment, training, empowerment and exploit their potential for integration in the mainstream society.
\nKey Responsibilities
\n\u00d8\u00a0Facilitate the registration of persons with disabilities in the District and maintain a data base for the district.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Mobilize and spearhead community-based rehabilitation projects for persons with disabilities.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Assist the Provincial Coordinator to find land resettlement for persons with disabilities in the district.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Monitor the provision of services to persons with disabilities and the implementation of the Act and any policies or national strategies on disability.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Identify buildings inaccessible to persons with disabilities and inform the Provincial Coordinator for further action.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Collect statistical data from relevant institutions relating to disability issues for purposes of planning, promotion, administration, monitoring and evaluation of services for persons with disabilities as may be advised by the Provincial Coordinator.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Coordinate all registered Organizations of persons with disabilities in the District.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Conduct needs assessments of persons with disabilities and make recommendations to the Provincial Coordinator.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Facilitate the submission of persons with disabilities CVs to the Provincial Coordinator for onward submission to Head Office.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Prepare, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for submission to the Provincial Coordinators.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Keep an inventory of all Agency assets in the district.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Keep the district staff establishment register of all personnel in the District.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Maintain and file all books of accounts. All books of accounts up to date as prescribed by Director Finance and Administration.
\n\u00d8\u00a0Carry out any other duties that may be assigned by superiors from time to time.
\nQualifications and Experience<\/p>\n
Grade 12 School Certificate
\nDiploma\/ bachelor\u2019s degree in social work or any related social science
\nMinimum of 2 years\u2019 work experience in a similar position
\nExtensive knowledge in community-based projects and disability sector will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
