The role is responsible for ensuring high standards in teaching, research, student success, and faculty development while aligning faculty operations with the University\u2019s strategic goals.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Faculty in line with the University\u2019s vision, mission, and strategic plan.<br \/>\nOversee the development, review, and implementation of academic programmes to ensure quality and relevance.<br \/>\nEnsure compliance with Higher Education Authority (HEA) and other regulatory requirements.<br \/>\nPromote and support research, innovation, and publication among academic staff and students.<br \/>\nLead curriculum development and programme accreditation processes.<br \/>\nManage and supervise academic staff performance, including recruitment, mentoring, and professional development.<br \/>\nEnsure effective teaching, learning, and assessment practices within the Faculty.<br \/>\nOversee student academic progress, retention, and success initiatives.<br \/>\nManage the faculty budget and resources effectively.<br \/>\nFoster partnerships with industry, professional bodies, and other academic institutions.<br \/>\nParticipate in University management meetings, committees, and strategic initiatives.<br \/>\nPromote a culture of academic integrity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Faculty.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n<p>A PhD in a relevant academic discipline from a recognised institution.<br \/>\nAssociate Professor or Professor rank will be an added advantage.<br \/>\nMinimum of 7\u201310 years of academic experience in higher education.<br \/>\nAt least 3\u20135 years in academic leadership or management (e.g., Dean, Head of Department, Programme Coordinator).<br \/>\nProven experience in curriculum development, research supervision, and academic programme management.<br \/>\nStrong understanding of higher education policies, accreditation, and quality assurance systems.<br \/>\nDemonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and people management skills.<\/p>\n<p>Key Competencies<\/p>\n<p>Strategic leadership and decision-making<br \/>\nAcademic programme development<br \/>\nResearch and publication leadership<br \/>\nTeam leadership and staff development<br \/>\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills<br \/>\nStrong organisational and administrative abilities<\/p>\n<p>INTERNAL MEDICINE CONSULTANT<br \/>\nAs a\u00a0Consultant in Internal Medicine, you will be responsible for providing specialist medical care, clinical leadership, and academic support within the University\u2019s health services and affiliated teaching hospital. The role involves diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with complex medical conditions, while contributing to teaching, research, and clinical governance.<br \/>\nKey Responsibilities<br \/>\nClinical Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Provide specialist consultation, diagnosis, and management of patients with complex acute and chronic medical conditions.<br \/>\nConduct daily ward rounds, outpatient specialist clinics, and inpatient reviews.<br \/>\nParticipate in emergency and on-call services as scheduled.<br \/>\nSupervise the clinical work of Registrars, Medical Officers, Interns, and other healthcare professionals.<br \/>\nEnsure adherence to evidence-based medical practice, clinical protocols, and quality assurance standards.<br \/>\nMaintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements.<br \/>\nPromote patient safety, infection prevention and control, and ethical clinical practice.<\/p>\n<p>Teaching and Academic Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Deliver lectures, tutorials, and bedside clinical teaching to medical students and allied health students.<br \/>\nSupervise trainees (MMed\/Internal Medicine residents) in both academic and clinical training.<br \/>\nParticipate in curriculum development, academic planning, and continuous review of training programs.<br \/>\nContribute to student assessments, including examinations, OSCEs, case presentations, and dissertation supervision.<br \/>\nServe as an academic mentor to students and junior staff.<\/p>\n<p>Research and Scholarly Activity<\/p>\n<p>Initiate and participate in clinical and operational research aligned with the University\u2019s research agenda.<br \/>\nSupervise student research projects and dissertations.<br \/>\nPublish in peer reviewed journals and present at academic conferences.<br \/>\nContribute to grant applications and collaborative research initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications and Experience<\/p>\n<p>Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent medical qualification.<br \/>\nMaster of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine or equivalent recognized specialist qualification.<br \/>\nFull registration with the Health Professions Council and a valid practicing license.<br \/>\nFellowship qualification will be an added advantage.<br \/>\nAt least 3 to 5 years post specialization clinical experience.<br \/>\nDemonstrated teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level.<br \/>\nEvidence of research output, publications and conference presentations will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n<p>PAEDIATRICIAN CONSULTANT<br \/>\nClinical Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Provide specialist consultation, diagnosis, and management of infants, children, and adolescents with acute and chronic paediatric conditions.<br \/>\nConduct ward rounds, outpatient paediatric clinics, and inpatient reviews.<br \/>\nParticipate in paediatric emergency care and on-call services as scheduled.<br \/>\nMonitor growth, development, and overall health of paediatric patients and provide appropriate interventions.<br \/>\nSupervise the clinical work of Registrars, Medical Officers, Interns, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals involved in paediatric care.<br \/>\nEnsure adherence to evidence-based paediatric practice, clinical protocols, and quality assurance standards.<br \/>\nMaintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with regulatory requirements.<br \/>\nPromote child health, patient safety, infection prevention and control, and ethical clinical practice.<\/p>\n<p>Teaching and Academic Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>Deliver lectures, tutorials, and bedside clinical teaching to medical students and allied health students in paediatrics.<br
