Reporting to the\u00a0\u00a0Process Maintenance\u00a0\u00a0Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and high-performance operation of all control and instrumentation systems within the copper processing plant.
\nYour duties will include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
Oversee the Instrumentation & Control (I&C) team, including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
\nManage work allocation, training, performance evaluation, and development of staff.
\nEnsure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance equipment across the plant.
\nReview and approve instrumentation and control system designs, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and control logic.
\nEnsure compliance with ISA, IEC, and relevant mining industry standards.
\nEvaluate engineering designs for new installations and recommend improvements.
\nSupervise installation of instrumentation systems (DCS, PLC, SCADA, field instruments).
\nOversee pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including loop checks, calibration, and functional testing.
\nValidate system integration with process equipment and ensure operational readiness.
\nDevelop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for instrumentation and control systems.
\nTroubleshoot complex issues in sensors, transmitters, control valves, PLCs, and communication networks.
\nMaintain detailed records of instrument performance and reliability metrics.
\nManage instrumentation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
\nCoordinate with process, electrical, and mechanical teams for seamless project execution.
\nEnsure timely delivery of instrumentation upgrades and expansions
\nProvide technical guidance to operations and maintenance teams.
\nConduct training sessions on instrumentation systems, including DCS and SCADA platforms.
\nSupport reliability engineering through RCM and FMEA assessments.<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:<\/p>\n
Minimum Diploma in Digital systems and or Similar
\nMinimum of\u00a0ten (10) years\u00a0in instrumentation and control within mineral processing or heavy industry.
\nExperience with commissioning large-scale process plants and managing multidisciplinary teams.
\nMV\/LV switchgear & distribution systems,\u00a0
\nSAP CMMS
\nProven experience with Siemens SL150, GH180, G120\/G130 drives
\nProficiency in instrumentation standards (ISA, IEC, ANSI).
\nAbility to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and control logic diagrams.
\nSiemens technical certification or similar
\nValid membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
